RC EMS Cup #2 starts tonight

The second EMS One Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Cup will start tonight at 19:00 and finish tomorrow evening with the best-of-three grand final.

Last week Swedes Epsilon prevailed in the grand finals for 100 points and $600, after Ninjas in Pyjamas were upset by German n!faculty in the semi-finals. With Epsilon now guaranteed a spot in the main round, others will be competing to join them.

Teams have been competing in EMS A-Series to secure spots in this weeks cup. Among interesting results were VeryGames's 7-16 loss versus BEASTS and Lemondogs dropping a map versus BGDonLINE.

Can asmo & co ruin NiP's plans of qualifying once more?

Points are given out for placings as shown here, and top 16 teams with most points from four EMS One Cups will make it to the main round, from where eight teams will advance to the LAN finals.

This week's cup features eight teams who will skip the first round, while others will start from the round of 32 in the single-elimination best-of-one bracket. The following 24 teams will take part in EMS ONE Cup #2:

Sweden NiP France VeryGames Sweden Epsilon Slovakia 3DMAX
Portugal k1ck Sweden Absolute Legends Netherlands LowLandLions Germany n!faculty
France LDLC France Imaginary Gaming Germany ALTERNATE Germany gamed!de
Germany EYES ON U United Kingdom Overrated Individuals Spain Wizards Norway Temp.no
Germany NOD Germany dotpiXels Finland Eternity Gaming Germany EnRo
France Evokate Denmark Northern Eagles France WaRLegenD Europe BEASTS

First three rounds of bracket play will take place today at 19:00 , 20:00 and 21:00 . Semi-finals will be played tomorrow at 19:00 and 20:00 , followed up by the grand final at 21:00 .

Time is adjusted to your selected timezone
Lots of lovely teams. :-D edit: and Epsilon

they still have two more cups to gain points in, so it's not exactly too late. they probably just want to give full focus to their vienna preparation. edit: or, according to #11, they were just fucked with the system. you know, the usual. my colleague says they lost 25 points for not playing a match since the last cup, so four teams moved ahead of them and got into this cup.

haha, there might be a bit of truth in that. for teams which aren't playing full time it must be really hard to keep track of everything at the moment. and i think nip is the only team which is playing full time at the moment?

I would focus on EMS since there is so much more money to win unlike in Vienna and it's at least in the US, so money and location wise points for EMS. But it's their decision.

EMS finals will be in Germany and ESC still have two more cups to gain points in, both of which will likely have a worse field of opponents who already qualify in the first one. They don't have to choose, they can do both.

because only 14 teams can play from this ladder... esl.eu/eu/csgo/5on5/aseries/ at the beggining in aseries we lost 1st game we just forgot to play, it says -25 points, but they didnt remove points at leats. then we won 5 matches and had 123 points, which placed us on 2/3 place in aseries. On wednesday we advanced to the next stage of this leage which is mentioned above, and suddenly they cut those "-25" points from our "123pts" and we are 15th, not 8th...

25 points were removed today because of "inactivity", you needed to play 1 match since last cup :/

yea, and they do this day before a cup, sauber! its like a steam update day before lan tournament ;) can't see in the rules what says when do they remove points for inactivity anyway, 8 teams have free slot in 1st round hahaha

It says under the rankings that you need minimum activity in order to not lose points between updates :P And the updates are made on the day of the cup. Not to play ESL's advocate or anything, but they do have SOME rules to which they stick :) And yea, imo they could add 8 more teams, but I guess they want to give some advantage to 8 teams from last season..

imo this is not advantage because 10 teams from esl major series are drawn as top10 and now, we will be drawn as 1 of latest teams and will play agains very top seeded

Yep, the system doesn't really work for this season. But in the next one with none of the top teams in the A-Series, it could work maybe.
