VeryGames beat ESC, yet again
VeryGames have once again defeated the best Polish team ESC Gaming, 2-0 in the upper semi-final of ESEA Season 13 Global Finals (16-10 on de_dust2_se, 16-9 on de_inferno_se).
After taking down Quantic in a convincing fashion yesterday, ESC Gaming set their eyes on defeating VeryGames for the first time ever in the upper semi-final of the ESEA Season 13 Global Finals.
As the higher seed, VG took the advantage and removed 3 maps, which left ESC with the chance to pick the first map and the side they will start on. They opted for T-side on de_dust2_se and it seemed they made the right choice after going up 3-0.
However, after VeryGames picked up the rifles in the first buy round, they began a long streak of nine consecutive round-wins, including Edouard "SmithZz" Dubourdeaux's 4-kill action for 6-3.

VeryGames were much stronger in buy rounds
ESC finally won their first buy round at 9-4, which led them to a strong finish of the first half, but in the end having 6 rounds as Terrorists was still a disappointing effort.
Nevertheless, that strong ending shifted the momentum to their favor so they took the second pistol round as well to quickly even the score at 9-9 after the ecos.
But once again as the French-Belgian squad finally saved money for the big guns, they rolled over the Poles whose only round until the end of the map only reduced the deficit to 13-10. After that, they had a solid chance to get further back into the game, but Dubourdeaux clutched a 1-on-2 situation for 14-10 which propelled VeryGames to a 16-10 victory.

SmithZz top fragged in the first map
Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas scored three Glock kills at the start of the second map, de_inferno_se, to give his team the early lead yet again. But in the same way as in the first map, after saving out two times VeryGames stormed out with the rifles to take 6 rounds in a row.
The Poles needed Jarosław "pasha" Jarząbkowski's 1-on-2 clutch to break that streak and they finally managed to string a few rounds of their own to make the score 6-6.
A strong finish from VG this time gave them another 9-6 lead as CTs, as well as momentum which they used to finally win their first pistol round of the match thanks to Nathan "NBK" Schmitt's 4 kills.
The Frenchmen simply looked like the stronger side in this clash, proven by Kevin "Ex6TenZ" Droolans' ace in a tricky anti-eco which came down to a 2-on-4, putting the score at 12-6.

ESC couldn't match up this time either
At 14-6 another member of VG stepped up under pressure, as Kenny "kennyS" Schrub took down three opponents with the AWP in a 2-on-3 situation while having mere single digit health points.
That put them up 15-6, and even though ESC didn't give up taking 3 more rounds, the French-Belgian team clinched the match with an eco round win, 16-9 on de_inferno_se.
