Fifflaren: "We did our best vs VG"

Ninjas in Pyjamas member Robin "Fifflaren" Johansson has rejected the notion that his team threw the MSI Beat it! Europe match against VeryGames.

NiP suffered their first loss in 16 matches against VeryGames in the semi-finals of the online tournament, this way missing out on a spot at the event in China, which will hand out $22,000.

After the match, there was a great buzz about NiP potentially throwing the match, with Johansson's comments about the team not wanting to attend the finals anyway sparking suggestions that the Swedes had not approached the game seriously.

However, Johansson has now said that this is not the case and reminded that his team were playing for the money that was at stake in the tournament.

"We did our best to win the match. We were playing, after all, for $3,000, but we had a bad day and we faced a really talented team," he told fragbite.se.

"We would never throw a game. We have never done and we never will. We gain nothing from it, especially in this case, when we had a strong psychological advantage against one of DreamHack Winter's strongest candidates.

"We talked to the tournament organisers a month ago and we explained to them that we would not go to the finals. We came this far in the tournament and there were no problems whatsoever."

NiP have a very busy period coming up as the Swedish team will attend ESWC, the SLTV StarSeries finals and the RaidCall EMS One Fall Finals, in addition to DreamHack Winter.

dude, this has nothing to do about whether or not this is a sport. This has to do about sponsorship and the organisation. The organisation does not want to make a bad impression, and the sponsors does not want to officially be connected to an organisation which has a bad influence and are considered liars and such. Yet I think that if there wan't gonna be a dhw it would have been a closer match (not saying that NiP would have won), since they probably would have been more motivated. Plus, they don't want to boost VG's self-confidence for DHW (I suppose at least)

Well the HLTV staff put obviously words in Fifflarens mouth and made it more "dramatic" than it actually was. GeT_RiGhT had like an AMA maybe a day or two after the match versus VG and he said the same thing Fifflaren did but with better choice of words, in something in style with; they won fair and square and deserved the win. As Fifflaren didn't use the right words HLTV exploited it and made some kind of drama nest for both NiP and other fanboys to troll from either side. Which then followed by his "real" message which kind of makes it look like he took back what he said but really just had to clearify for the retardation of some of the HLTV staff.. And the gullible ones. I like eSport news, I really do as it support things I like, although the thing I hate the most about people is when they twist it around and use it against you.
