$10,000 GridLeague announced

A new North American league called GridLeague, hosted by GamingGrids.com, has been announced with $10,000 on the line for three divisions.

The league will be split into three divisions, Main, Intermediate and Open, similarly to the ESEA league system, with a hundred teams competing in total.

Teams will be placed into their respective divisions after preliminary matches, which will take place within the first two weeks of the league. Then, after a short break, twelve weeks will be reserved for the season, while the best-of-three playoffs afterwards will be in a span of a month.

Registration: March 1st - March 25th
Placement Matches: March 31st - April 13th
Season: April 16th - July 6th
Playoffs: July 7th - August 3rd

While the registrations are still open until March 25th, there are forty-three teams on the list already as of today, with these among the most known ones:

Eight teams will battle in the Main division, which will give out $7,000 in prizemoney divided as follows:

1. $5,000
2. $1,500
3. $500

HLTV.org will provide you with more information on the new North American league once it is revealed, such as the top eight teams competing in the Main division, starting on April 16th.

That is a big difference in placing, 1st gets 5000 and the second in placing gets 1.500. With 43 teams competing.... You will have to get lucky.

That's the prize money just for Main which is only 8 teams.

In most tournaments it's divided this way, with the winner getting close to half of the prize purse. In general, the bigger the prize purse, the smaller the first place in %, but it's not always respected.
