Virtus.pro to attend CPH Games

Virtus.pro have become the latest big-name side to sign up for Copenhagen Games' Trust Fona CS:GO tournament.

The Polish giants were last seen in action at EMS One Katowice, a tournament they won after beating Ninjas in Pyjamas 2-0 in the grand final, this way collecting the $100,000 cheque.

On Copenhagen Games' website, you can now see that Virtus.pro have signed up for the event's €26,000 tournament, joining a provisional participants' list that also features the likes of Titan and LGB-eSports.

Will Virtus.pro win another international tournament?

Last year, the Polish team, who were then known as ESC Gaming, came in 13th-16th place following defeats to Virtus.pro and Epsilon.

Below you can find some of the teams who have already signed up for the Danish event:

Denmark 3DMAX Finland ENCE eSports
Denmark ESC Gaming Norway Expert Gaming
Sweden GreyFace Norway H2k Gaming
Sweden LGB-eSports Slovakia NecroRaisers
Denmark dignitas France LDLC.com
Finland Menace Russia USSR
Germany Wild Fire France Titan
United Kingdom fm-eSports Denmark tRICKED
Poland Virtus.pro

The format and amount of teams makes it harder than any other tournament to win. bo3 group stages and a double elim bracket with a larger number of teams than other tournaments means that only the absolute best will progress to the semis/final and have to battle the other toptoptop teams to win. There is no chance for a random team to get lucky and reach semis/final only to get destroyed by a better team. That better team will probably have to beat every other best teams to win.

well I guess EMS had a tighter schedule maybe? But CPH was great last year, except for the 3 way tie ofc, but that won't happen again with the GSL format. If there were one tournament that would accurately show who the best teams in the world are, it's CPH Games. Although, I don't agree with any one tournament showing this, and rather a group of them, to show consistency.
