C9 beat mouz to qualify for major

Cloud9 are the first team of the day to secure a place at ESL One Katowice following a 16-14 victory over mousesports on de_dust2.

After winning the knife duel, mousesports picked the CT side as the one to start on, and the German side came out the brighter in the match, winning the pistol round with an aggressive strategy thanks to a triple kill from Chris "chrisJ" de Jong.

Cloud9 replied immediately after and equalized the match thanks to double kills from Jordan "n0thing" Gilbert and Mike "shroud" Grzesiek, but the North American side got a taste of their own medicine as they were caught off-guard by an ecoing mouz side. In the following round it was Tobias "Troubley" Tabbert’s time to shine, as the German rifler picked up three kills from long while covering the platform in A.

mouz went on to win the following two rounds, but a stunning triple Desert Eagle kill from shroud put a stop to the German team's streak. A 1on2 clutch from chrisJ inside A restored a four-round lead for mouz, but then Cloud9 embarked on a three-round winning streak to cut the gap to 5-6.

chrisJ was on fire with over 30 frags

For the reminder of the first half, mouz were in the driving seat, except for the very last round, in which Kory "SEMPHIS" Friesen picked up three stunning long-range headshots.

Trailing their opponents 6-9, Cloud9 got off to a great start in the second half by winning the opening five rounds. A B rush then gave mouz their first round of the half, but a triple kill from n0thing in A denied the Germans the chance to win back-to-back rounds.

chrisJ replied with four kills of his own while defending the A site, which powered mouz to equalize the match on 12 rounds and forced Cloud9 to go on eco. Unfortunately for the Germans, they were unable to capitalize on that situation as Cloud9 took the scoreline to 15-12 before sealing the deal in the final round.

Grats, C9. But an easy group. Semi-Low team, bottom top 10. Would have been better for the American scene if they failed to qualify so the best lineup could be assembled. Professional CS should be played to win, not to stream and receive donations instead of price money. Hiko Skadoodle Shroud N0thing ??? IGL Cmon, Stunnaboy. This is an eSport, so pelase stop treating it like a popularity contest. Now start attacking, stream fanboys.

This isn't a dream team, it's a realisticly possible team with current player options. Cloud9 players won't leave.. yet.

A proper organisation/team has a coach and a manager and a contract that ensures players put in the required hours to actually become better instead of streaming pugs. If they choose to stream outside of that it's no problem, the best teams in the world still do that. Are you retarded?
