AlienTech AllStars with €6,000 purse

AlienTech has announced that it will host an offline event in Porto with €6,000 in cash prizes.

With a couple of successful online cups to its name, AlienTech has announced its most ambitious tournament project yet as it will host an offline event, called AlienTech AllStars, at Shopping Cidade do Porto from November 20-22.

Ten Portuguese teams will be joined by six foreign sides in the tournament, which will give away €6,000 in cash plus Ozone gear, bringing the total prize purse to €10,000.

AlienTech AllStars will be held at Shopping Cidade do Porto

All teams interested in attending AlienTech AllStars need to email the tournament organisers at [email protected] with the name of the team, the roster and the captain's contact information. The signup fee is €175 per team.

AlienTech has special discounted room rates at several hotels in Porto and will provide teams with transportation from the airport to the tournament venue and then to the hotel.

The prize distribution for the event is the following:

1. €3,500 + Ozone gear
2. €1,500 + Ozone gear
3. €750 + Ozone gear
4. €250 + Ozone gear

All players are very exited about the Ozone gear

Who is going to a tournament to finish 4th? By that logic only there wouldn't be any competitive anthem, and only 3 teams (because only the 3 first places are worth it) would sign in. You are always thinking on the 1st place mate, but you must work hard to get it. Plus there are 6 slots for non-portuguese teams.

why would good teams attend though (tier 2 teams for example) if they need to pay to play? they also need to pay for flights, hotel etc...

.Dude you're not counting everything... flights, hotel and stuff like that is supported by the orgs they represent (on pro scene ofc). *So, an example: .NiP is going to a major, BUT... only the 1st place will win the big prize-pool. Then, what are they doing there? .A LAN it's not only about the final prize-pool, there are other profit sources like advertise and shit like that. .Am I wrong? .Even better, what did Vexed do at Cologne 2015? They would NEVER get any money for it, right?

i think youre missing the point let me ask you this: what kind of team will go to this lan (t2. t3 etc..)? flights and hotel are payed by the org, but half of the tier 2 teams and almost every t3 team don't have an org to pay for all that stuff.

my friend... as usual in portuguese lans, by "6 slots for foreign teams" they mean spanish teams whatsoever. Like back in the days in the XL Party cs/css. I remember mTw and Steelseries team went to a XL Party in Lisbon to play CS:S in 2010/2011 (if im not mistaken). You are right if we are talking about t1/t2 teams, cuz they wouldn't even spend their time "smurfing" in Portugal :) but... I actually see the best spanish teams preparing and going to this lan tho. Whatever, let's wait and see, I don't know everything, these are just expectations. :) (sorry for all the big repplies xD)
