Titan, Conquest to CEVO semi-finals

The final two teams to make the playoffs of the CEVO-P Season 8 are Titan and Conquest, perhaps defeating their respective rivals of Luminosity and dignitas somewhat unexpectedly in both groups' deciding matches.

Group A's deciding match of the CEVO-P Season 8 finals at the MLG.tv arena was a rematch of both teams' openers with Titan and Luminosity squaring off yet again.

It was Titan who made sure to not put the cart before the horse this time as Richard "shox" Papillon used his newfangled leading powers to give the Belgian-French team a map win on de_cache with a score of 16-11.

de_cbble on the other hand was much more in Luminosity's court with the Brazilians taking that map 16-11, a somewhat ironic fact considering both teams defeated each other on their own map picks.

The RpK-tank came rolling through a town named Luminosity on de_inferno

The final map was where Titan's support Cédric "RpK" Guipouy put in a strong performance, helping win multiple key rounds to give Titan the 16-14 map win on de_inferno, a series win, and the third spot in the CEVO Season 8 semifinals.

The second game pitted Conquest, a North American team making its first offline appearance and who made it to the decider match after defeating regional rivals Liquid.

Conquest, powered by Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz, Keith "NAF" Markovic, and Shahzeb "ShahZaM" Khan took off on the first map of de_cbble and, supported by boisterous local fans, managed to stun the Danes 16-9 on the first map.

On de_train, a clearly shaky dignitas went down 0-6 to Conquest but managed to rally and finish the half 8-7 up. The game went the ultra longhaul from here on out, as Conquest first managed to get match-point at 15-12 but then lost the advantage and the game went into overtime.

The first overtime saw both teams win all 3 CT rounds and thus force a second overtime but it was finally here that dignitas powered ahead and took the second map 22-19.

The final map of de_cache was once again a nailbiter with dignitas ending the first half while 10-5 but a tenacious Conquest defense pulled ahead and ultimately saw the North American team win 16-13 to be the final team to make the CEVO semifinals.

It was kinda nice to see those little boys cheer for the home team. A game is much more interseting to see when the crowd scream and shout out of excitment. Great tournament.

feel bad for cold, he's been playing like a true hero. anyway... LG just need to keep it going, they'll get better with time and experience. Nothing to be ashamed of by losing to mous and Titan, two good teams that can beat T1 EU teams.

I feel like if fallen hit more shots with awp they would win some lost maps in the past couple of weeks. Idk why he's underperforming like this since he showed up impressive awping in Cologne few months ago. If LG wants to go to semis or finals at some important tournament, they need fallen's awp at his peak.

Brazilian fanboys are the worst.. But either way, glad to see LG improve. They're playing a lot better than some months ago. Coldzera is insane.. he's been playing well consistently and that's awesome. Mouz played very well against LG, and they even kicked Na'Vi out of the tournament.. I guess they are favorites for this one as they've been playing great. Also Titan was very good on this second series.. I feel bad that LG had the unluck to face Titan on a day that ScreaM and RpK are playing out of their minds. Hope LG can come back of these tournaments stronger and be at the top some time soon!
