Counter Strike on public TV

The Emmy award winning sports producer Mike Burks and chairman of Fox Sports David Hill, has decided to participate in a project interesting to all esport fans.

During August a minor tournament between compLexity, NiP, Team 3D and JMC will held and filmed in San Francisco for DirecTV. The champion will receive $ 50,000.

It will be interesting to see how the professional team behind the show will present gaming to the general public. This will properly be the best produced gaming show and it is a great step for esport – or at least it could be. Only time will tell.

For the moment there is no further detail, but we will follow up and of course you will be able to place bets on the competition.

it's a step forward for eSports, to bad that only americans can watch it ;)

I think that time when we'll watch esports in regular TV (sry HLTV.org =)) really had to come. for example ESWC. this matches had about 4 000 spectators. the same number of spectators as czech football league has. That's my reason for placing esports to the regular TV programs =)

First of all! Grr!! HLTV.org is like real tv! (Or something like like ;D) 2nd... u have much more watching football.

for me, real TV is that big thing lying in the living room (and I don't mean PC), which all the family is watching every day =) I think much more people can watch eSports on real TV, then on HLTV.org =) 1) not all PC gamers are watching HLTV, because of time, of their (often poor) PC, of internet connection, etc. 2) lots of "normal" people can start to watch eSports, because they'll find out that it is dynamic and exciting (even more dynamic and exciting then football =) ). That's just my humble opinions =) Nothing against HLTV, I like it and I watch lots of matches =)

pretty cool, apparently channel4 were at theSGL LAN earlier this year, and are apparently making a documentary about it, which will be nice to watch

I am going to be there!! :D should be pretty fun, its free to be in the audience, but you cant wear like white tshirts or shirts with letters on them or hats, kinda weird...
