SK creep past Astralis in OT

SK advances to the playoffs in Atlanta with a 19-17 victory on Dust2 over Astralis. They have one more shot to clear the groups in the coming 2-2 round.

The Danish favorites managed to stabilize early enough in the first gun round after being grinded out by SK's glocks in the pistol, as they asserted map control aggresively to crunch the Brazilian offense for a 5-3 lead. The slow tempo that the defending Major champions were not working in their favor as Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander and co. extended the lead on CT.

Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo's troops did consistently get both kills and bomb plants in and managing the economy well they kept the pressure up, with Ricardo "fox" Pacheco being succesful in his own rifle duels among other things, securing a solid triple on long in the 14th round and clawed back the half for a respectable 7-8 scoreline at first.

SK are Legends once again

SK rolled onwards with the momentum as Marcelo "coldzera" David took charge of dismantling the lower dark play early with three quick USP kills in the second pistol and regained the lead for his team 12-8, forcing a tactical timeout out of Astralis, but Fernando "fer" Alvarenga made any adjustments null with a cheeky position behind the scaffold near B window to crush the setup before it began.

Little panic was to be seen in the Danish camp though as they composed themselves and got the picks needed to force the CT's out of position and clawed back to 13-14 before another full buy from SK in which they went all-in with three AWP, but as it came down to a 3v2 after plant on the B-site the odds were slim and "" came out of the clutch versus fox in the end.

FalleN's team is not a team that ever backs out and they scraped into overtime with a solid A-defense and the sides were not switched, but Astralis revved back into fifth gear and Nicolai "device" Reedtz almost secured back to back 1v2 clutches to secure a perfect first OT half. fer was not going to stand for such shenanigans as he basically recreated such a scenario in the B-site to eventually close out the map 19-17.

Damn that randomizer not picking train but instead dust2 and still splendid match. SK managed to go playoffs but this also showing us how much firepower Na`Vi actually was having compared to Astralis or SK on their CT side holds, ofcourse timeluck was on Na`Vi's side too yesterday. So far fox is doing his job as stand-in and to be honest most people didn't even expect him to do this well. Interestingly SK never lost on overtimes since columbus too, I believe. If Astralis matches with North, it will be one of the rollercoaster matches for danish fans, I know they want both team to reach playoffs at least but it will be hella funny match to watch.

I dont think their CT setups are that strong, they just gamble almost every time, if they gamble wrong they will pay the price and btw SK played like shit that map

Don't really see them going to playoffs unless they start finding some structure and solid teamplay. Major or not idc about pressure is above normal ground, stupid peaks, bad reads of fallen's location, and dupreeh turning into a silver in a 1v2 tells me they have serious problems. 2-3 Inc. =(

Successful tournament for SK imo. They have no chance of winning the major so they should be happy with securing the legend spot. Even if Astralis make playoffs, they might have to play Navi or VP in the quarter finals. Dust 2 is so boring to watch.

CRLLLLLL!!!!!!! I can't handle this major, I have an hearth disease, SK will be the death of me xD Such a back and forth game, SK could've could have spared me the pain. Fox is such a love-hate player. He did so good at the start of the game, but at the end he made some mistakes that almost cost them the game. Glaive is a truly magnificent IGL, so much impact in every game, and overall amazing calls.

HLTV community is just so toxic. Lol. Either someone choked or the other one toggled. SK almost threw the game when it was 14-8, coming back from a 8-3, and then got his sh#t back together to secure the spot in the quarter-finals. It was an insane and epic game. I don't feel this nervous since MIBR.
