NiKo & rain invited to HTC 2v2

FaZe's Nikola "NiKo" Kovač and Håvard "rain" Nygaard are the latest duo confirmed by PGL for the HTC 2v2 Invitational.

The announcement brings the number of confirmed teams to five, with the FaZe duo joining the likes of G2's Richard "⁠shox⁠" Papillon and Kenny "⁠kennyS⁠" Schrub, and Na`Vi's Denis "⁠seized⁠" Kostin and Oleksandr "⁠s1mple⁠" Kostyliev in the tournament.

Neither Nikola "⁠NiKo⁠" Kovač nor Håvard "⁠rain⁠" Nygaard took part in last year's 1v1 Invitational. Fabien "⁠kioShiMa⁠" Fiey finished 7th-8th, while Joakim "⁠jkaem⁠" Myrbostad, who was still part of FaZe at the time, took 9th-12th.

rain and NiKo will travel to Bucharest for the 2v2 tournament

The HTC 2v2 Invitational will take place from May 13-14 inside PGL's studio, in Bucharest, with eight duos competing for a share of a $50,000 prize pool.

what the hell? coldzera not being on 2015's top 10 was something only understandable because he played "only" 4 months, then in 2016 he was #1, and could also be in 2017.. but you say he is not one of the best aimers neither has a high skill ceiling.. could you describe why is he the best player, then? fer is also pretty good also, the games are going to happen on retake maps (one aim map per duel), so its not about the "best aimer" at all dude, stop talking shit. please check last year's tournament.. the maps were only aim but desi won against ScreaM, can you explain that?

Dude don t get so butthurt, what they are saying is true. Cold is one of the best players all-around, but in a 2v2 setting without rotations, without support flashes, without teammates applying map pressure elsewhere... his effectiveness drops. He is still a great player, but his movement and raw aim aren't his strong points. Even on retake maps, it will still boil down to having to clear angles and win duels, and over a best of whatever (16 rounds?) He will be outplayed by people like S1mple and Scream.

as i said he was not the #1 by losing aim duels.. and ScreaM lost 1v1 to DESI. there's no point in arguing that, i guess we'll never know the outcome.

Spawns are random in a retake, which makes game sense less relevant. You can't "predict" where the enemy will be based on how the round played out when they can spawn everywhere.

Cold isn't a flashy player you don't have to be a flashy player xD he's a rock. That's why they have him you can count on him to get at least 1 in a retake or defending a bombsite most of the time he will get 2 that's why his numbers are good. If you think flashy plays is how you're gonna win you won't be a major championship team. Look at fallen his flashy plays have come back recently but for the most part they have been absent. Yeah Rain is over rated as shit and hasn't done shit in over 1 year now, it literally took NiKo joining FaZe and carrying the shit out of them for him to actually win something, he's never been an impact player in important matches and when he has skilled players like NiKo beside him you can see his quality is very low in comparison, Kioshima has been pretty good recently and Kioshima at his peak is way better than Rain that isn't even debatable. I don't think NiKo will be able to carry in 2v2s so Rain will lose this for them and I'm 100% positive of that cause he isn't a sick aimer, he isn't even a good played unless the whole team is built around him and even when it is they win nothing cause he never performs in important matches. Anyway this is pointless trying to explain to some fanboys, you'll probably link stats to try to over rate him cause you don't watch the actual games.

yeah, he is actually the one getting 0 eco kills like allu and basically only getting kills on gun rounds. You should watch him dude, he literally only gets kills on gun rounds and pistols and is by far the best train player at the moment. Niko gets a lot of eco kills that helps his stats, rain still is the entry fragger and when being an entry yout stats will be not good sometimes. Still Niko and Rain and Kio are imo without a doubt aimwise in the top10 or at least top15 in the world, maybe kio is more consistent but rain has more insane aim. Niko is number 1 in the world without a doubt as well
