Misfits qualify for DH Atlanta

With a 2-0 victory over ownage in the final of the North American Closed Qualifier, Misfits have become the second confirmed team at DreamHack Open Atlanta.

The last stage of the closed bracket pitted Misfits, who had moved past CLG Academy and Miami Flamingos, against Erik "fl0m" Flom's ownage, who had surprisingly defeated CLG and paiN after qualifying from the open bracket.

Misfits will attend two DreamHack stops in the coming weeks

The series began on Cache, ownage's map pick, where Sean "seang@res" Gares' men ran out 16-6 victors. On Mirage, Misfits had to work hard to overcome their opponents, eventually securing the victory in the last round to book their spot in the Atlanta competition.

Literally just lost ImAPet? Consistently inconsistent because they're breakout players like Tarik and JDM get bought out of their contracts. Basically a scouting team that other big names buy off of

Expected tbh, NRG didn't seemed like they were solid enough for this, CLG got upset and MF isn't on form yet.

what's the point of making an event that'll go at the same time as Major playoffs? you won't care if you literally won't have any viewers?

Different time zones. By the time one ends for the day, the other will just be starting

Yeah but what about the amount of CS you'll have to choose from? Look, Major playoffs are like the biggest thing you can get in CS, even if it's not in your time zone most of the US viewers will watch it (it's also on weekend). Is there a people who'll be willing to watch 6-8 hours of DH after a 6-8 hours of major's playoffs? That's a lot of CS and most of the people will probably stick to one event aka the most big one.

I'm just putting that out there. Dreamhack has a set schedule that does not change, regardless of other big events (i.e. DH Tours was the same time as IEM Sydney)

Says a lot about NA CS that a PUG team with no prior practice can come within one game of qualifying for a high-level tournament...

Bindary Dragons and Misfits? They better start inviting some talent to this tournament before it becomes tier 5 garbage...with all the other bigger events going on I wouldn't be surprised if good teams don't go and it ends up a couple tier 2-3 teams and the rest low tier garbage teams.

It's literally during the major, it's not going to be a tier 1 event probably not even a tier 2 event.

What if this was misfits plan the whole time. They knew they wouldn't be able to do shit in the major/major qualifier so they figured they could win dh Valencia AND dh Atlanta :o
