Rambo takes over as Cloud9 coach

Ronald "⁠Rambo⁠" Kim has taken up a permanent coaching position within Cloud9, according to Dust2.us.

The 35-year-old is stepping into the shoes of Soham "⁠valens⁠" Chowdhury, who has transitioned to a Head of Data Science role within the organisation, finally fulfilling the wish that he had publicly expressed in an interview with HLTV.org at BLAST Pro Series Lisbon.

valens is still working with the team but is "about 75% transitioned off", he told Dust2.us, with Rambo set to guide the squad in ECS Season 7 Week 3 and at their next events, the ESL Pro League Season 9 Americas and BLAST Pro Series Miami.

This will be the fourth coaching stint for the former Team 3D player, who has guided MVP Project, MVP PK and compLexity in the past. He departed the North American organisation at the end of 2018, attending iBUYPOWER Masters and the ELEAGUE CS:GO Invitational with Cloud9 on a trial basis as the team remained on the hunt for a new coach after unsuccessfully trying out Kory "⁠SEMPHIS⁠" Friesen.

Cloud9 are yet to make an announcement on the future of their squad, which is currently depleted to just four members after Jordan "⁠Zellsis⁠" Montemurro was unable to hold down a permanent place in the team's plans.

According to a recent report from Rush B Media, the ELEAGUE Major Boston champions are lining up a move for Jakob "⁠JUGi⁠" Hansen, one of the two players that a previous report from Dust2.dk had mentioned that were on the North American side's wishlist.
