Windigo bench v1c7oR, blocker; to trial international players

Windigo have announced that they will try out international players following the benchings of Viktor "⁠v1c7oR⁠" Dyankov and Yanko "⁠blocker⁠" Panov.

The Bulgarian lineup had been on the up this year as they won the WESG World Finals and Moche XL Esports, peaking at No. 13 in the World Ranking in April.

However, Valentin "⁠poizon⁠" Vasilev and company were unable to punch their ticket to the Europe Minor as they went out in last place in the closed qualifier. Most recently, they also got eliminated by HEROIC in the GG.BET Chicago Invitational and couldn't secure a place at IEM Chicago.

Windigo have decided to go international

The benched players, v1c7oR and blocker, will continue streaming under the Windigo banner but the organization has stated they are open to transfer offers, which can be sent to [email protected].

Maksym Bednarskyi, Windigo's Gaming Managing Partner, pointed out a lack of stability and creativity, which prevented the team from reaching the "Tier 1 level". The organization has decided to test out international players to solve this problem.

"After a series of tournaments that our team played after the WESG World Finals, it became clear that we lacked stability and creativity to reach the Tier 1 level. Today we are taking a step towards the international lineup and we take very motivated and talented players to test them." said Maksym Bednarskyi, Windigo's Gaming Managing Partner.

"We have enough time to switch to the English language within the training process and to start the next season with the updated lineup! We set for ourselves only the highest goals and we will do everything to please our fans! Cheer up for Windigo Gaming!"

Well , the team manager makes no sense. Basically : " we pay them 1000$/m why they dont bother to become tier1 team , we want to be tier1" yeah ok. For 1000$ i'll play 3-4 mm games/day

I'm pretty sure that will immediately increase if they become tier 1. So you want management to increase the players' pay at the level of a tier 1 team just because they can promise to practice more? That would definitely be the go-to strategy if they want to declare bankruptcy the soonest. Achieve better results first before you demand better pay.

Well... they had some decent results at some point. They've proved many times they can upset good teams. So imo there's a reason why they don't bother to be consistent.

In my opinion it has more to do with their playstyle. They are a strong skilled based very aggressive team but lacking discipline/strats/rigor. Kinda like FURIA or CR4ZY, but there style is gonna meet a wall at some point as they climb the higher tiers of CS and meet stronger teams that can adapt to that style and are as skilled if not more.

Yet they can be a solid tier2 team nonetheless. But they'd rather play online games only and once or twice a year qualify for some LAN. Not because they cant , but guess they're not motivated enough. That was the case with SpaceSoldiers. For 500$/m i wouldn't even join the server 60% of the matches.

It's very close. Cost of living is extremely low in Bulgaria. Hardware etc is not much cheaper though.
