BLAST Pro Series LA on-air team announced

RFRSH Entertainment has revealed the official broadcast team for the upcoming BLAST Pro Series event in Los Angeles.

Eefje "Sjokz" Depoortere returns to desk hosting duties after making her BLAST debut in São Paulo, being joined by four analysts, including ex-Cloud9 duo Jordan "⁠n0thing⁠" Gilbert and Sean "⁠seang@res⁠" Gares.

Tres "⁠stunna⁠" Saranthus will be running the show as the main host, while Frankie Ward will be on the sidelines as an interviewer and reporter.

Sjokz will be hosting her second BLAST Pro Series event

Three casting pairs will commentate on the action, which will start on Saturday at 20:00 , with all best-of-one matches being played on the first day of the event following the recent changes to the format of certain BLAST stops as part of the Front Row Experience, a series of initiatives "focussing on competitiveness, live- and viewer experience in a cut-throat entertainment format."

The top four teams of the round-robin stage will advance to the second day for the best-of-three semi-finals, which will be followed by the BLAST Stand-off and by the grand final, scheduled for 04:00 .

Liquid, NRG and FaZe headline the team list for the North American event, which will be held over the weekend at the HD Buttercup building. The winner of the event will take home the grand prize of $125,000 plus ten points towards the ranking that will be used to determine the four teams attending the Global Finals, where $500,000 will be on the line.

dreamhack does like 10 tournaments per year, esl too and some other companies. Blast only need to improve the format. Is good to have new things in the scene.

Have you not seen the things they've done? They contract teams to attend the events before the events dates are announced. Meaning the teams are obligated by contract to attend at least 5 blast events in a year meaning they miss other events. Difference with esl and dreamhack is that they don't force teams by contract to attend the event

yes, but the orgs sign the stuff without asking players. numerous players arent happy with it and i can guarantee that astralis players are disgusted with how this turned out for them.

But then those are internal problems between players and orgs. At the end of the day, I think all teams want to play a 2 day tournament with $200k (or whatever it is) prizepool and a final major event with the best teams and $500k? prizepool. For next season, Blast only need to listen to the feedback (and that's what they are doing right now) teams are giving. I think there are enough room for more tournaments because there are a lot of good teams in the TOP30 and it would be great if they open a bit and start inviting other teams apart from TOP10.

I don't think RFRSH ever intended this to happen, more like they tried something, and hoped it would actually help the open CSGO scene, but it became a disaster at par with the death of the NA CS:S scene back in the day. The Online viewers, i:e peeps like you and me are fucked over the most by this BLAST format, cuz we literally have to juggle between 3 streams to watch BO1s. Some people like to only watch their own team, but Not us. Not us.

Thing is, It's a very large Prize Pool for just a 2-day event, with proper treatments for players and talent. Less Days of work, but More money, who'd reject an offer like that?(except maybe Thorin). The only actual place where These tournaments have fucked over, is the viewer Experience online, especially in Groups, and the whole "Astralis skipping events" debacle.
