Renegades and Liquid go 2-0 in Group C of ESL Pro League Americas

Renegades opened up the second day of group C with a flawless 2-0 victory over ATK, while Liquid beat Singularity 2-1 to end the day.

The first series of the night kicked off on Dust2, which began with a close back and forth battle between the defense of Renegades and the offense of ATK. After trading the first 10 rounds of the half between each other, the Australians finally managed to pull ahead thanks to the heroics of Justin "jks" Savage, who picked up a total of 23 kills to carry his team to a 9-6 scoreline. It was smooth sailing from there for Renegades as they gave up just one more round to ATK before closing out Dust2 16-7.

jks closes out Dust2 with 25 kills against ATK

Train ensued in a very similar fashion to that of map one, ATK keeping the scoreline close for the first few rounds of the game before having all control stripped from their grasp by the players of Renegades. The Australians opened up the second half with a lead of 10-5 and showed no signs of stopping as they easily secured the second pistol round of the map. No matter how hard they tried, ATK were unable to find any way back into the game, ultimately resulting in a loss on Train of 16-6 and a 2-0 victory for Renegades.

The North American battle began on Overpass, which saw Singularity take an early 3-0 lead. However, it didn't last long as Nick "nitr0" Cannella and his troops easily tied up the game and took control of the half. Despite finding themselves down 5-10 at the end of the first half, Singularity opened up their CT side with a bang as they won six rounds in a row to pass Liquid on the scoreboard and ultimately win the map 16-12.

Relyks shined on map one against Liquid

It was clear going into map two that Liquid had no plans on being 2-0ed by the underdogs of the series as they easily took control of the first half by securing an 11-4 lead. Singularity’s struggles continued into their T side as they failed to win a single round until Liquid made it to map point. From there, a fire was lit underneath Skyler "Relyks" Weaver and co.’s feet as they miraculously made their way to overtime in what seemed like a lost game.

Singularity seemed set to take the map and series from their North American rivals after a 10 round win streak. However, Liquid had other plans and in the blink of an eye, stole Dust2 right from underneath the noses of Singularity with a flawless overtime run to finally close out the map 15-19.

Inferno, the final map of the series, kicked off with Liquid yet again gaining an early lead over their rivals. The more experienced North American team took no chances against Singularity as they gave up just three rounds on their CT side, this time securing a 12-3 scoreline. Unlike the last two maps, Liquid managed to hold onto the large lead they had given themselves during the first half to secure the map 16-3 and the series 2-1.

Thats their midset and thats why they are not going to be #1 maybe not even top5. On the other hand teams like Astralis analyse every match to see if they did something wrong, even if they won 2-0.

Pretty sure that Renegades is going to win against liquid. TL lost all the confidence in themselfs. It takes a lot of time to get confidence back. Hopefully they are back before the next major. Its ok to have a downfall, because Astralis had it too.

What? Losing a map was embarrassing for sure, but Ethan’s name was changed back because he changed his own tag back to Ethan. Cutler’s name on HLTV is still reltuC. Relyks plays with the same tag and always has, why would HLTV change it to Skyler for no reason when he hasn’t himself?

EliGE said in an interview that they lost all of their fundementals, and team play isn t as good as before the break, so we just need to give them some time to actually get their shit toghether, but I m worried like hell about their current form

After winning all them events plus the grand slam I’m sure they didn’t practice any. Busy spending all that money. I hope they get back in form soon because Astralis EG fnatic and vitality are all looking better rn.
