cadiaN pushes Heroic to win DreamHack Open Atlanta over Sprout

HEROIC became the champions of DreamHack Open Atlanta after beating Sprout 2-0 (Train 16-9, Inferno 16-10) off the back of a fantastic performance from Casper "⁠cadiaN⁠" Møller.

After the semi-finals saw Sprout topple CR4ZY and HEROIC beat Virtus.pro in close two-map series, the two winners locked horns in the grand final for the lion's share of the $100,000 prize pool.

Having already surpassed expectations at the event, Sprout continued to do well in the title decider with a fruitful start on their pick, Train, leading 3-0 off the back of a pistol round win as Terrorists. The Danes responded with three of their own and back and forth the two teams went, with HEROIC eventually pulling away thanks to three consecutive retakes to get away with a 9-6 half.

Sprout quickly equalized things with another 3-0 start in the second half, but it proved pointless, as a close 2v2 win on A rocket-started HEROIC's offense, which went on a seven-round streak to win the opening map 16-9.

cadiaN was in great form throughout the final

Starting as Terrorists, Marco "⁠Snappi⁠" Pfeiffer's squad got off the line first on Inferno with three unanswered rounds at the beginning before the two teams kept forcing each other to save multiple weapons, with Sprout coming out ahead of the economic battle in the 10th round to take the lead. By the end of the half, HEROIC managed to take back control, stringing three together for a one-round advantage.

With cadiaN putting up four kills in the second pistol round, the Danes once again looked in commanding form after switching sides and went on to pick up a convincing victory, letting go of just three rounds for a 16-10, 2-0 triumph.

CadiaN was always one of those not much talekd about guys, but i always loved his IGLing actually back in Rogue with Hiko, they were able to beat some good teams with cadaiaN, nothing special, but was noticable, he is not a bad igl nor player, i guess maybe his attitude or communication is what kept other teams to avoid him, i dont know, but overall he knows his shit...

Where is the embarrassment in that? The top female gamers are good aimers. It's their team play, preparation and planning that is lacking - let's be real most don't have any big sponsors or ressources. You can find many insane aimers on a random ffa server that can outaim or equal many pros. I've been one myself in Quakeworld and Quake 3, but it's one thing to be the best on Endif or End in Quakeworld vs dm4 or dm2. The same obviously goes for CS.
