Global Challenge Dubai has been won by fnatic, following a 2-0 score over MYM in the Grand Final.
After placing second in Chengdu, the team currently ranked first in the world crowns their work in Dubai with first place.
The Grand Final started off on inferno, where fnatic got to start as T. Strong performance but fnatic lead to a 10-5 score at halftime, denying MYM several times to win clutch rounds. On the CT side of inferno fnatic had it figured out as well. MYM could see fnatic taking six rounds against the five MYM had secured, leading to a 16-10 win for fnatic.
Moving to train, a map fnatic is known to play strong on. MYM did however want to prove what they are capable of on the map, which fnatic realized several times, when being eliminated, even with the bomb planted. First half went in favor of MYM, with a 11-4 score. As CT fnatic proved their worth, but all of a sudden MYM took those important rounds, approaching 14 rounds won. From this point and on, MYM saw the remaining rounds going to fnatic, meaning a 16-14 victory for fnatic on train and 2-0 overall.
Winning Global Challenge Dubai, fnatic once again proves that they are the team of the year. They got their revenge from the Chengdu final against SK Gaming, but the road to the playoffs was tough. We once again learned that fnatic did not do good in the group stage and was on the edge of crashing.
They did pull it together and in the playoffs they once again found the play them need to win tournaments like this. With the victory fnatic receives $10.000 and a direct invite to the Extreme Masters IV World Championship Finals next year at CeBIT.
The tournament also write history, as it is the first time at an international event of this size, sees first, second and third place being from the same country.
Global Challenge Dubai was an all exciting event and its not quite over yet, as we will be back with much more content from the event, including HLTV demos, POV demos and statistics. While you wait, you should drop by our Global Challenge Dubai galleries, where you can find all the excitement captured.
I never said that Delpan was near to the level of DSN but im just saying that Delpan was also a good AWP'r. But i really dont think that dSN is the worlds best with the AWP. He was the best AWP'r on this tournament but not the whole world

Delpan is for sure better than dsn with awp. Dsn doesn't have so good reflex, he is just sitting in one place and aiming at one spot, gaining many frags.

what are you talking about ? walle is one of the best awpers ever existed and his reflexes arent gone. he gives the awp to khrystal cause he is the only player which plays with 800*600 in sk , and that reso is little better in some positions. and have you thinked that its probably wise move to change the awpers that enemy cant really know whos gonna awp etc cause sk have 3 insane awpers , which all got different awping style and so on. So i dont really see why you talk that kind shit about walle. in my opinion those all 3 are better with awp than dsn.

Are u dumb? Cant you read? never said he was bad, just saying that he used to better. He is not in to be classed like DSN, Sunde, Khrystal or fRoD anymore. He does best with the m4, for the team too.

Yeah sure... That's one way of looking at AWP skill, not my way. :D AWP skill to me is just what you do with the rifle, positioning and understanding of the game is just skill in general to me. :) But AWP skill + a lot of skill in general of course makes you better with the AWP, that's true. :)

To be really honest, dsn is far from the greatest awp in the world, and thats why he does not buy it in every buy round or the most of them at least.. There is no comparison with awpers like Sunde, Luq, Khrystal, Friis, approx etc.. believe me on that one! ;))

It really depends from tournament to tournament, imo u would have to have statistics from all the big tournaments this year and then decide who was the best.
Yes, dsn was n1 at this tour, but maybe Sunde will be better on the next one,or someone else,if u get my point...

Well statisticly speaking, Sunde is the most fragging awp this year or the last one. But, the thing is that skill is not counted statisticly wides and who killed the most, but who is helping the team with his sniper the most..

are you incapable of reading?
i said last year he was the most fragging one, not _THIS_ year.
and wtf do you mean about it's still 2009? by "last year" i ment 2008, got it?

Nicely played by Fnatic i was actually rulling for mYm. Remember that mym hasnt been a team as long as Fnatic so i think mym played very well also to KerchNET for playing against the pros. A new team like KerchNET will actually come far also as mYm will. Fnatic: Championes of Dubai

#25 took the words out of my mouth. Not quite the NiP-high yet, but he played relaxed, not being scared of who he faced.
In SK he felt held back, in NiP he was just running over everyone, now in MYM he is leaning towards NiP-side again :)

Sweds so strong today... fnatic, MYM, SK, H2k, Begrip. Such a few teams from other parts of the world can compete with them. As I started watching CS I thought it will lead to globalisation of this game, and teams from all over the world will be fightning for top3 places. But not today :S

Agreed
as cArn said :
2003 there had fewer tournament than right now, and hard to travel around the world.
And the competition level is quite different and harder than 2003. For example : US Cs competition level cant compare as strong as europeans right now, because the CGS u no...
so yeah i think fnatic is better than 2003 SK

The wierdest torunament ever XDD both semi finals and both match for gold and bronze ended up with same result, first three spots taken by one country, and not one game ended 2-1. That's sick ;d
