Los Angeles to stage WCG 2010

The World Cyber Games commitee has confirmed that Los Angeles will stage the 2010 world finals.

This will be the third time in the tournament's history that a WCG event will take place in North America, after San Francisco and Seattle hosted the 2004 and 2007 editions, respectively.

Los Angeles, where the NBCU reality TV show WCG Ultimate Gamer was shot, will be the hosting city of the 10th edition of the famous gaming event, succeeding Chengdu.

The 2010 World Finals will take place at the city's Convention Center, but the dates for the event have yet not been announced.

''After taking into careful consideration the many factors involved with selecting the host city, the World Cyber Games Committee came to a clear decision with Los Angeles,'' World Cyber Games CEO Hyoung-Seok Kim told wcg.com.
''San Francisco and Seattle were extremely successful events and we look forward to returning to the United States for our 10-year anniversary.''

WCG 2010: + We may see CoD: MW2 as an eSports game! + America. Thats all I gotta say. + A new awakening for eSports in America. + Better teams. I mean, look at 09? Failure :< A WCG without SK is just a... CG - Time difference - America. EHE! - Not as many fans as in Asia or Europe(?) Hopefully, and this is my opinion, some of the bigger eSports nations such as Sweden, Denmark, Germany etc. will get some more slots for WCG. Sweden got 4 teams that very well bring home the whole tournament. Denmark got alot of teams, that are quite unknown to most for the moment, but that can show what their made off when they get the chance. Germany probably has the most active scene, just look at the games they show. 1 per day or so. Lets hope for good teams in 2010 :)

I actually thought it would be South Korea, as the organization and the event started. With it being the 10th event, I'd expect them to host it on home soil. LA is good though, let it be summer event! (chanches low)
