The EVPs and Best Five of BB Dacha Belgrade S2

Spirit's swift raid of BB Dacha sees them leave with three individual awards to their name.

Spirit's demise was, perhaps, called too soon. Leonid "chopper" Vishnyakov and Sergey "hally" Shavaev's men won all but one map, 61.2% of rounds, and had a 15-5 record in pistol rounds.

They were back to their front-running best, and so was Danil "donk" Kryshkovets. It's his fourth MVP of the calendar year, and the fourth LAN he finished on or above 1.00 kills per round.

The 17-year-old's charge at the Player of the Year trophy is far from over, and he used his MVP interview to prove just how high his standards have climbed towards being.

IEM Cologne, where Spirit exited in last place, will live long in donk's memory — and might still prove deadly when it comes to award season.

donk: "To make up for [Cologne] we need to play on a decent level four or five more events"

It's so often the rifler in a superteam that has to settle for an EVP award from MVP numbers, but in a donk team it's AWPer Dmitry "sh1ro" Sokolov with that fate.

sh1ro was the second-best at the event in rating, KD-Diff, ADR, KPR, 1+ kill rounds, and Impact. You can guess who was first.

sh1ro did outshine donk in the grand final, though, where he topped the rating board with 1.48 and a 9-2 record in opening duels. Regardless, his wait for a Spirit MVP goes on.

Jimi "Jimpphat" Salo was MOUZ's best player in their meaningful map wins (1.60 rating, Dorian "xertioN" Berman second on 1.28) and in the four maps that eliminated them (1.18 rating, Ádám "torzsi" Torzsás second on 1.16).

He also hit sky-high peaks of 1.59, 1.99, and 1.91 ratings in three of the four maps that confirmed MOUZ's top-three placing.

While at the end of the year, defeat to Eternal Fire means the event will be looked back on with some regret by the MOUZ squad, very little of that blame can be squared on Jimpphat's shoulders.

Özgür "woxic" Eker earns his first EVP since his MOUZ days by being the driving force behind Eternal Fire's run to the final — culminating in a 30-frag overtime win over MOUZ themselves.

The Turkish sharpshooter had a 1.33 rating in EF's lower-bracket map wins, a run that featured victory over HEROIC (No. 17), FURIA (No. 16), paiN (No. 14), and the aforementioned MOUZ (No. 3).

All were higher-ranked than woxic's Eternal Fire, and all felt the impact of his AWP (0.37 AWP KPR, 1st).

Myroslav "zont1x" Plakhotia squeezes into the list for his second EVP of the year after a solid event that ended with him taking over Vertigo and Mirage in the grand final against Eternal Fire.

He matched donk and sh1ro's record of 0.14 opening KPR and was the fourth highest-rated CT player at the event from his anchor positions.

Best Five

Spirit's dominance is borne out in the Best Five, with chopper joining his three main fragger EVPs alongside MOUZ's Jimpphat.

chopper gets the nod ahead of overachieving captains Engin "MAJ3R" Küpeli and Rodrigo "biguzera" Bittencourt primarily because of the dominance of Spirit.

We know they are a gameplan-heavy team, meaning much of their success should be credited to coach hally too, but chopper also deserves props for executing those plans so effectively to blitz teams out of the server.

Honorable mentions

torzsi came closest out of the rest of the pack, putting up a fight in MOUZ's collapse but not doing enough beforehand.

Ismailcan "XANTARES" Dörtkardeş fell short of a second 2024 EVP by playing slightly worse against tougher opposition, lacking the full CV of peaks to crack the list.

FalleN showed flashes of his old brilliance against EF and in the play-in

paiN earned a top-four finish but did so as a team; biguzera ends on a higher rating than the others but largely because he was more consistent rather than massive impact.

Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo had the best map of the tournament with a 2.52 against Eternal Fire but lost the series, and needed more elsewhere for an EVP.

MVPs and multiple EVP winners

donk adds a fourth MVP, though it is important to remember his two BB Dacha MVPs are of less value than bigger events.

Still plenty more running left in this increasingly intriguing No. 1 race.

sh1ro 0 MVPs & 5 EVPs kinda feel bad he is overshadowd by a generational talent but he'll probably be aight because he knows he would be playing with interz right now otherwise

He wouldnt be in a position to win that many evp’s without donk because donks aggressiveness compliments sh1ros passive style so well

irrelevant to his point that sh1ro is fully dependent on donk to win EVP's also "significantly fewer is absolutely wrong, he had 10 EVP's alone in 2021 including the Major and Cologne and Blast Finals, he added another 6 the next year.

he didnt say hes fully dependant, he said being on a team with donk and friends has massively contributed to his evps in 2024, sh1ro being in a downwards spiral since 3 years ago beforehand

"He wouldnt be in a position to win that many evp’s without donk" = implying he would not win EVP's without donk, which is literally not true and he proved it in the past. And sh1ro had a better 2022 than 2021 individually, so your last point makes no sense either.

I'm with Gauchinho. Sh1ro is a great player, he carried C9 and whenever they would get anywhere he'd get EVP's or MVP's he's not dependant on donk... Now on a spirit team, MVPs are off the table, so he gets an EVP every time they get anywhere. You may argue Spirt get deeper more often than C9, but the number of MVP's and EVP's Sh1ro posted in 2021 and 2022 say he was getting deep enough, enough.

want me to read it to you? the finnish guy said sh1ro would have gotten fewer evps if he played this year without donk, which is objectively pretty much 100% a true statement and i was not talking about individual downwards trajectory (which he went from 4th best player in the world to 3rd, wooooow succcch a hugeeeee whoop dudeeee) but his evps, which have been going down consistently 3 years in a row so just stfu will ya

What are you smoking? He literally said "He wouldnt be in a position to win THAT MANY evp’s without donk" and you think that means "He would not win one entire EVP ever without being hard carried by donk" I dont even know what to say. donk and sh1ro is a very good combo, and they help eachother. No need to be super defensive and thinking everyone hates sh1ro just for pointing that out.

thats because sh1ro is basically non impact. his high rating is because he always has low deaths. he doesnt carry a team like donk, zywoo, monesy

Every team should start farming t2 mvp’s. Hell, go play premier and give some mvps from that while we’re at it.

No that can be done in HLTV’s reasoning for top 20. An MVP is an MVP.
