G2 vs FaZe, Spirit vs HEROIC headline Elimination Stage day 3

G2 will go up against FaZe for a playoff berth

Day two of the Shanghai Major's Elimination Stage has come to a close, with Vitality and The MongolZ advancing from the 2-0 pool and Wildcard and BIG being sent home without a win.

The match-ups for the 2-1 pool are now set, and it includes a mouth-watering clash between G2 and FaZe. The last time the two teams faced each other was at the BLAST Premier Fall Final, where G2 ran out 2-1 winners to record their fourth win in a row against Finn "⁠karrigan⁠" Andersen's troops.

The 2-1 pool has thrown up another bout between two top-10 teams as Spirit will lock horns with HEROIC. In the other 2-1 match, MIBR and Liquid will face off for a playoff spot.

Meanwhile, MOUZ and Natus Vincere will be favored to make it through the 1-2 pool after being pitted against 3DMAX and GamerLegion, respectively. The last match of this elimination pool will be an exciting all-Brazilian showdown between FURIA and paiN - two teams that haven't met each other in 2024.
