Aurora in touching distance of Austin Major MRQ after Galaxy Battle STARTER win

The Russian side is currently projected to finish just a few points shy of an invite to the Major qualifier.

Aurora beat Metizport 3-1 to come out victorious from the Galaxy Battle STARTER tournament off the back of an inspired performance from 19-year-old Gleb "gr1ks" Gazin, who averaged a 1.57 rating in the grand final.

The team gained close to 200 points on the Valve Regional Standings over the course of the tournament, which also saw them beat the likes of fnatic and ECLOT on the way to the $15,000 grand prize.

As a result, Robert "Patsi" Isyanov and company jumped to 26th place of the European standings. If they were to stay there until April 7, the deadline for BLAST.tv Austin Major invites, the Russian side would squeeze into the European Regional Major Qualifier.

However, an HLTV projection that takes into account point decay and other ongoing events finishing before the cut-off shows that Aurora would drop to 29th place, just a few points shy of the top-26 placing required for an invite.

To make their final case for a place in the Major qualifier, Aurora hope to do well in the BetBoom LanDaLan 2 Closed qualifier, where they are competing for two spots at the Russian event in a group also featuring 1win, CYBERSHOKE and Chimera.

and you have to use your brain. he was talking about the quals to save them to get to MRQ. it had 0 sense to talk about the big event as it takes place in may when major MRQ invites are already locked in. he just misspelled.

VRS is making everything weird. The tournament region, invitation cutoff dates, and the prize money seem more important than the real firepower.

VRS is absolute trash. It's going to ruin the CS E Sport. The prize money is the most important part about the VRS. The more money you win, the higher rank you'll become. That's the only reason why Imperial FE played in BLAST & Katowice. It's not because their fire power or skill. It was about how much money they won in Female CS. They jumped to T1 events, when they didn't even play in t3/t4 events. (I support the female scene btw. I just live in reality & bringing facts into the discussion)

vrs prevents things like the imperial fe thing happening again, it was just bad timing with the end of last year and it self corrected itself well since then.

What are you talking about? How could the VRS prevent it, when it's the VRS that literally caused Imperial FE to be in BLAST & KATO. It's not because of the VRS that they won't be at those tournaments anymore. It's because they lost tons of points from losing those games against top 20/10 teams. They are literally going to Yalla Compass. Micky mouse tournament but they still don't even deserve to be there. There are TONS of teams that should've been there before them. But thanks to VRS, they'll be there. You clearly don't understand how the VRS works.

in theory the vrs prevents it because you shouldnt be able to run ranked invite only big prizepool events. your right for some reason i dont understand its ranked but i dont understand how since it clearly doesnt follow the tier 1 tier 2 etc structure

You clearly have no understanding on how the VRS even works. So until then, shhh. Either go read the blueprint to the VRS or go watch some HLTV Confirmed & listen to the boys explaining how the VRS works. You don't understand how the VRS works nor do you understand what i'm even talking about lol.

I'd be surprised if they make it since there is that yalla compass closed quali with a 75k prize pool. Tho all the teams around them can also choke and miss the cutoff.

Yes, it will be a very tight squeeze if they do make it. 9INE aren't going to YaLLa, so they will likely get beat out, but there are several teams right behind Aurora that will be going.
