mTw & Na´Vi reach WCG final

mTw and Natus Vincere are the two finalists at WCG 2010, following 2-0 victories over compLexity and Frag eXecutors, respectively.

mTw confirmed their favourite status over compLexity by beating the Brazilian team 2-0, on de_train and de_nuke. The first map was a one-way street for mTw during most of the time, as compLexity could only bother the Danes on two occasions during the first half. With an eleven-round lead at the break, mtw just controlled the tempo as they saw fit, and allowed coL to make a push, which was short-lived, though, as the Scandinavian team picked up a 16-7 victory.

On de_nuke, it was almost the polar opposite, as the ex-FireGamers team were the ones to call the shots in the first half, with every player looking really focused on taking the match to a third map. coL were enjoying a 12-3 advantage at the end of the first half, but when many thought it was a closed case, mTw started collecting rounds, inspired by the support they were getting from fellow countrymen Full-Gaming, and turned the score around to win the map 16-14.

In the other match, Natus Vincere outclassed Frag eXecutors, but they were still made to work hard to get the victory, specially on the first map, de_dust2, where neither side could get over the other, as the scoreboard showed 15-15 after the two halves. As the teams entered overtime, Na´Vi raised the bar, and two 2-1 halves gave them the lead in the tie.

On de_tuscan, Na´Vi were simply far too hot for their opponents to handle, and went into the second half up 10-5. The first four rounds of the second session also went Na´Vi's way, before FX finally managed to respond, winning three rounds in a row. But that was as far as they got, as the Ukrainians won two consecutive rounds to win the map 16-8 and claim an overall 2-0 victory.

One of the greatest comebacks I've ever seen from mTw.. The ninja-defuse by Zonic must have been the round of the match.. Hope they'll make a clip about that :D *edit* could you imagine if FX had won this whole thing, how many polish fanboys would have spammed hltv for months bragging about it?? :DDD (just kidding, FX deserves it)

Guys, when Spawn was ninja-defusing on de_cbble did terrorists hear him? It just seemed that they were very far away.

No I think the last guy hears some steps when Spawn tried to trick them "he ran the last bit before defusing" (cant remember who it was who heard him) and quickly came back.. Also some rumours says that the crowd made a lot of noise when he started defusing but dont know if its true..

"The ninja-defuse by Zonic must have been the round of the match.." i dont think so... it was a HUGE, ridiculous mistake by coL, its like 90% coL fault and 10% zonic's merit... i mean, they didnt heard him in a 2vs1 situation, WTF!! what they did is as retarded as an tk, a suicide, a beginner thing. (to it be a even worst situation, these two coL players were the stars of the team, fnx and FalleN)

it doesnt matter how you put it.. Zonic still defused with perfect timing from the shots when the ak's went off because Sunde was getting killed. If he didnt do that then the round was easily won by complex and we would face overtime and possibly a 3rd map..

Fx (AGAiN) did the same thing last yest. They lost with Tyloo in groupstage (it was rly 'low skill team'), because they wanted to play with fnatic in final not in 1/2 or 1/4 (don't remember exacly).

I can't agree with u. This yr Tyloo is great team, but not on last WCG in China. I was watching this game and I'm 100% sure that AGAiN lost it because they wanted to lost it. It was like "ok guys, only full-auto mode ON, bad aim ON, ffa tactics ON etc." Rly hilarious match :P

Easily? :) We'll see. Personally I think they will put up a great fight as usual. Na'Vi has never won "easily" against mTw, they always play tight matches The only thing that springs to mind when thinking of easy wins against mtw is the train match where markeloff went absolutely nuts :D Think mTw lost 16-1 or 16-2 but pretty much all other maps have been close ones like 16-14 16-13 and overtimes going both ways etc. :) I can't wait for the final tomorrow, it's going to be epic! Good luck mTw! I can feel it, this is your time to shine :D

you're right, it's not going to be easy for na`vi now that you mention the facts. i think mtw's nuke is kinda weak (i didn't see all the matches) so, if the maps are something like train, nuke, dust2 i think it's going to be a pain in the ass for mtw

Should be fucking amazing, don't want easy win for any team. Silly mistake by coL, though it would not so interesting if they even managed to outplay mTw & reach the final.

No I think the last guy covering the site hears some steps when Spawn tried to trick them "he ran the last bit before defusing" (cant remember who it was who heard him) Also some rumours says that the crowd made a lot of noise when he started defusing but dont know if its true..

The mTw picture featured in the article might be one of the best pictures in e-sports history I've ever seen!
