markeloff: "Tomorrow will be tough"

After making their way to the Grand Final against mTw, we got hold of Yegor "markeloff" Markelov and asked him to comment on their playoffs' performances and the upcoming match against the Danes.

The Ukrainian team find themselves in final match of another major event, when they take on mTw to decide which of the two will take home the WCG 2010 gold. mTw is a team very familiar with WCG top3, while it is the first time the Ukrainian team will play a WCG Grand Final.

Natus Vincere made their way to the match against mTw by defeating Lions, bet4gamers and Frag eXecutors and according Markelov state that only the match against the Poles was a tough one.

"The game against Lions was pretty easy for us, same goes for the match against bet4gamers. Against FX, it was really tough match for us, we had a lot of luck in the last round on dust2, where we didn’t have enough money to buy, so we bought deagles and won it. On tuscan we crushed their economics on T side and I think we really dominated them."

About playing the Danes in the final, the Ukrainian AWP'er told us the following: "I think they [mTw] deserve to be in the final for sure, they have been playing really well in this tournament and crushed all the teams they have played against. I think tomorrow will be really tough for us, as they will know how we played today, they will study our demos, but we will study theirs, too. I am sure it will be a really good match between us."

When quizzed about if his team can be considered the greatest of 2010 in case of a win against mTw, Markelov answered: "For sure!"

Markeloff. A New Legend :). Anyway, coL.br need to bootcamp in Europe and practice with teams like Na'vi. Zeus is famous for studying the other team's demos and copying strats and making em better. That's what coL.br should do cause I noticed in their matches against mTw and tyloo coL.br wasn't exactly sure what to do in some situations. *btw I'm a coL.br fan before a random Brazilian fan and I'm being realistic.. starts flaming me saying "OMG COL BEST IN WORLD U SUCK"*

the reason why their tactics are like that is cuz nak is their in-game strat caller and leader so its been quite disappointing in my opinion... bit should fill up this spot like in old mibr.. at least with bit they seemed more organized and consistent stratwise

Actually, in my opinion, mTw don't deserve to win the WCG. They lost my respect because they were cowards in their group matches to avoid the hardest brackets (without reason of course, they're a such amazing team).

Not only that, but you should also consider WCG's poor research when they made their groups. They didn't spread out the heavy hitting teams. Also, the announcer during the live feed said that zonic said that they didn't 'throw' the match, they simply decided not to use any strats in a match that didn't matter so that the bigger teams couldn't anti-strat them later on. They do the same thing in every sport known to man. You save your strats for opponents you know you'll need them for, not waste them on a match that doesn't matter. They didn't intend to lose, they intended not to give away their strats too early.

Cen9 - i hated this guy(in terms of playing), but now when his nervous come in a peace with his mind - he became much smarter player. It's pleasure now for watching him, instead of previous times. Btw Pasha started playing also amazing. Finally outsiders became favourites!)) So with 5's member in a squad(new cen9) Na' Vi is able to beat mTw, who in a very good shape now. Best wishes both!

Na'Vi has definitely been the team of 2010, without much of a doubt. While fnatic finally brought back the lineup that garnered them success last year, so far it's yet to be back to the form it was previously. CS is so up and down these days, it's hard to predict who'll show up and win any given tournament.

It`s not only markeloff . The best aimers are ceh9 and Starix , never the less Zeus is a very good in-game leader , Edward is very good for 1st pistol rounds and Markeloff comes in clutch rounds :) . So Markeloff is something like the 4th or 5th man of the squad because he is the awper .

ceh9-> people questioned why he was in Na'Vi. ceh9 went from an extremely slow but clutch player, to an extreeemely smart, quick, and fast aimer AND clutch. ceh9 and starix are being the strongest players in Na'Vi for this wcg. starix-> A monster, this guy frags 0 in a round, then drops 2,3,4 on the following round. edward-> extremely consistant, always does the necessary ammount of frags. He has yet to go crazy on wcg, but ceh9 and starix havent been leaving many guys left to frag Zeus-> In-game leader, and as fnatic once mentioned, Na'Vi is the smartest team of all times, Zeus will anti-strat the crap out of a team in the middle of a match. Markeloff-> I believe markeloff's much more of a clutch player than starix and ceh9, markeloff almost never dies lol, and wether its a 1v1, 1v2, 1v3, if markeloff goes for it, be it with awp or rifles, you just have to cheer for the guy :P Na'Vi's the top team of 2010 mainly because they DONT have a weak link at all, their lineup is made up of 5 great aimers, 5 great clutch-players. It's very hard to beat a team where even when they only have 2 guys left, its still a very big challange to win the round

Some people here are really stereotypical if you think Na'vi have no challenges and only fnatic are their rivals. All these teams are good, and they all can do some damage. I think mTw also beat Na'vi last time they played, I believe it was written in one of these articles.
