Na´Vi fall against ESC

After defeating fnatic in their previous match, ESC Gaming have taken it a step further as they now defeated Natus Vincere 16-13 and secured themselves a place in the final of GameGune 2011.

In another very close match near the end of GameGune 2011, after defeating fnatic 16-14, we witnessed ESC Gaming taking another big scalp, now defeating Natus Vincere with a 16-13 score on de_inferno.

According to Andreas "moddii" Fridh ESC Gaming came into the consolidation final match hoping to get revenge for yesterday's 16-9 loss to the Ukrainians on the same map.

The Swedish-Norwegian-Danish squad started off on the right foot by winning their CT pistol and building up a nice 5-0 lead. But after that, Natus Vincere took the game over and won 9 of the remaining 10 rounds in the half, putting the result at 9-6 before changing sides and looking quite comfortable.

At the start of the second half, ESC once again took the pistol round and after two eco rounds by Na`Vi the score stood even at 9-9. A couple of round later we saw a 10-10 result, and won 3 big rounds in a row, finding themselves very close to victory at 13-10. Natus Vincere fought back but when the score stood at 14-13 ESC found another two good rounds in them and won the match 16 to 13.

This victory brings ESC Gaming to a clash with SK Gaming in the final of GameGune 2011 after which the winner will receive €12,000 and the 2nd placed team €6,000.

After their loss, Natus Vincere placed 3rd, same as in last year's edition of GameGune and they will receive a €3,000 prize.

seriously do we have to tell you the obvious? their best result is with karrigan, please get the point. also it they did not have karrigan they wouldve lost to fnatic, tacky wouldnt be able to do what he did. he had a pretty bad match against navi yes, but please check the overall stats for ESC this tournament, before you start to put kalle and barbarr above. Karrigan IS a madfragger, check the matches with mouz or fullgaming.

kalle is obv a better player than karrigan, and played better this event overall, so don't give me this shit. this is also their first event playing a BO1 playoff, which is a big difference from BO3. for example, they won a map against mTw in the DH semi, but lost cus it was a BO3. The first two event with tacky they placed 3rd/4th. in the third event they hadn't time to pracc before the event, and played shit.

they sucked at ICSC8, which is their latest lan. especially tacky did not perform, yet somehow they manage to get better results now. "kalle is obv a better player than karrigan, and played better this event overall" - What do you base it on? He played better against Navi yes, but do you seriously only base it on that? Also I believe we are a lot who believes karrigan is a better player, so I am not sure how 'obvious' it is. If you do not know who karrigan is, do not speak of his skill honestly. Seems to be you've never watched him play before, but I can tell you he was the one making fullgaming win, he carried mouz when he joined, and he is a freaking standin now, yet this is still their best result. We will see next time ESC will play with tacky how great they will perform, and I am almost certain it won't get better than this. Not for now.

why even comparing kalle & karrigan (even if karrigan is faaar away better than kalle, sniping, opening, topfraging...) And for you know BO1 is better for ESC than any other teams because mixes are always more dangerous in BO1, where they can surprize and win, while in BO3 they would maybe surprize in the first map but never win against a good team. :)

karrigan is ALWAYS the first to go in and therefore it seems a little hasty when he enters into action but most of the time he does the entry frag and in the further course he oftenly does a second frag. So no need to put into question his skill...

Na'Vi after missing many tournaments at the start of the year is not same as it was in 2010. Now FX and mTw missing so many tournaments, worried about them also. ESC for sure one of the best team around. With appearance in 4 big tournaments they managed to reach top 4 , 3 times. GG.

Couple of excuses: 1. All respect to ESC, good tournament so far! 2. Don't think that Navi's era is over. 3. Tournament structure is bad for Navi 4. Final de_nuke, the worst Navi's map is a joke rly... LOL... I prefer just to give a free win to SK instead of losing power and concentration))) 4. Karrigan played really nice and whatever everyone will say, we will see on the next match with tacky, how ESC will perform. 5. Honestly with Karrigan, the 2nd awp, almost everything changed on some maps, like train ;) 6. In case of Bo3, I think Navi would have won. Just my opinion :)

it is not just a map thing... they are as a team better... they just made a complete team which is excellent allround... great team players and the best fraggers in the world... win win for them... they have more experience than navi at the top flight as well... a lot more experience in fact... navi became a force in 2010 before that they weren't even known... sk has players who have been in the top flight since before 2007

People must understand the epicness of this, ESC went into this tournament with Karrigan as a stepin. Karrigan is danish, a language not easily understood by other scands (no offence), they've had 1 day of practice together and this is the result, beating two of the top teams. Doesn't matter how they do against SK now, tbh

And just in my opinion ..NaVi show very low individual play..they know how to play just in perfect timings teamplay ecc.. if the timing go wrong, 1-2 granade are off NaVi go down .. for example look at SK playng, they just have a really good teamplay NAD most importnat individual play from forest face and ger nerd ..3 madfraggers that will allways kick some ass ... navi need to change something if wanna win

Just to answer #353 and #351 as well. Karrigan is a really good AWP player as well. Sometimes he is better than Friis with it. On top of that Karrigan is a better rifle player too. I know most people would say that Friis > Karrigan in an AWP battle, but if they let Karrigan be the AWP player and practice is enough, then he can be very dangerous.

Na`Vi still #1, fanboys? .. I think we surely can say that SK is the #1 team now(And they have been since they recruited delpan), followed by FX, Na`Vi and mTw. Great tournament by ESC, though I am not sure yet if I would say they are top5 in the world. Too bad karrigan is just a stepin, but I am looking forward to see their(ESC) performance in the next couple of tournament. SK will win the final without too much hassle.
