M5 defeat DTS, Lions over ESC

Round 3 of the first two groups at ESWC 2011 is now over. In the two most interesting clashes so far, which are potentially going to decide who will reach the playoffs, Moscow Five defeated DTS 16-9 in Group B, while Lions overcame ESC 16-7.

In the clash between 2nd and 3rd seed of Group B, Moscow Five took on DTS on de_mirage. The Russian side started on the Terrorist side and after an initiall close battle, they secured a good 10-5 lead. DTS won the second-half pistol and the following anti-eco rounds, but Moscow Five managed to overcome the Ukrainians in the following buy rounds, as they closed out the match 16-9.

In Group A's clash between Lions and ESC Gaming on de_dust2, the all-Swedish team came out on top 16-7. Lions were ahead 9-6 after half time, which they played on the favorable T-side, a score that promised an interesting second half. However, ESC were completely stopped and Lions once again showed that they are amazing on de_dust2 CT-side, easily finishing up 16-7.

This puts Moscow Five at the top spot of Group B, with all three wins so far, while SK is catching up expectedly having 6 points and a match less. DTS will now need to defeat the Swedes if they want a chance to make it through.

The exact same situation is taking place in Group A, where Lions are on top with 9 points, AGAiN is second with 6 and a match less, while ESC Gaming will have to step it up against the Poles in their next match.
