Moscow Five take third in Kiev

Moscow Five have secured a place on the IEM6 Global Challenge Kiev podium with a 2-1 victory over fnatic.

Second third place finish in the last two tournaments attended, is what Moscow Five added to their achievement list today, as they won the third place decider against fnatic.

The Russians went down 0-1, with fnatic winning first map de_train with a 16-10 score line. In the semi-final against SK, Moscow Five seemed very much like a team tilted, which could be a reason for not performing well on the second map.

Exactly the opposite was the case against fnatic, M5 bouncing back on de_nuke, winning 16-10. Third map de_inferno saw M5 maintaining their momentum and several member showing great individual performance, which gave them another 16-10 victory, to win 2-1 and claim third in Kiev.

Moscow Five place third in Kiev

A third place granted Moscow Five $4,500 and 45 points for the IEM6 rankings, which surely will be enough for them to gain access to the IEM6 World Championship in March. fnatic gained $3,100 for fourth place and 25 points for the rankings, but have already qualified for the World Championship via their first place at IEM6 Global Challenge Guangzhou.

that means they would have to overtake Na`Vi, SK, or ESC. I don't see that happening.

there is not a huge gap between top3 and M5/fnatic. M5 and fnatic both have won and played constant tight games against those 3 teams. if you look at where M5 came from then they improved a lot throughout 2011. it is not unlikely to see them grow more and surpass any of those 3 teams. to be honest there is no definite nr 1 atm, there are currently 3 teams that are all capable of beating each other on any given day/map and are only a bit ahead of M5/fnatic.

Counter-Strike 1.6 fnatic mousesports SK Gaming WinFakt eFuture UMX.us These teams were already qualified for Grand Final@Cebit before the Global Challenge in Kiev SK and fnatic are qualified, so the 2 slots will belong to NaVi and M5 I think

As far as I know, yes. Edit:// Oh, i did not read the bottom of the page: "A third place granted Moscow Five $4,500 and 45 points for the IEM6 rankings, which surely will be enough for them to gain access to the IEM6 World Championship in March. fnatic gained $3,100 for fourth place and 25 points for the rankings, but have already qualified for the World Championship via their first place at IEM6 Global Challenge Guangzhou." So, yea, M5 definetly will be there :o

"Unlike previously though however, should the previously qualified teams place in the top two, the two World Championship spots do not get passed down - the only way to receive them is to place top two." So they won't get passed down! But m5 got enough points to get invited.

If you want to see fun counter-strike, watch Moscow 5. They are the most aggressive fun team to watch, and every player on the team can pull insane frags. Dosia and Fox are unreal. Fox is probably the most underrated awper in the world.
