The Electronic Sports League has announced that logiX have been disqualified from the German EPS Winter season for cheating.

The German team occupied the fifth position in the EPS table, with nine points from six matches, and were just one point shy of the play-off qualification zone.

It has now been revealed that both Andre "Andrue" Dangel and Oliver Maximilian "kzy" Heck were caught cheating by the administrators during an ESL tournament.

HLTV.org has learned that the German duo were in a five-man party playing a match through Versus, the ESL's match-making system, and manipulated the server so that they could get $16,000 at the beginning of a round whenever they wanted.

The five players, including logiX's duo, have been handed a two-year ban from all ESL tournaments, while logiX have also been barred from taking part in the upcoming EPS season.

All of the results that logiX secured in the EPS league will be deleted, and the wildcards used by the opposing teams will most likely be returned.

As far as I understand it, hat is what the responsability of being part of an EPS team is about. The punishments, especially as in this case due to cheating, do not only affect the players themselves but the organization they play for and their teammates.

first of all , esl decision to ban the whole team is unnaceptable. 2nd of all , they didn't use a "real cheat" , they used a "3rd party advantage" if you can define it that way. let me explain a bit clearer for low iq people who whine here on hltv like if they had some kinda wallhack or stuff like that which is on the highest grade on the cheat scale , and andrue remains one of the best players in germany (1.6 atleast). example : football (which highest cheat grade is doping) , let's say , messi and ronaldo both use in a match some magic boots which shoot by themselvs , with or without those boots , the 2 players still remain good(best in world) , this is same shit , with or without the 16k they still remain good at the game , and like i said , they didnt get banned for some very dangerous cheat. understand before accusing.

Cheating is cheating. Doesn't matter if it seems " exagerated " .. Whatever the game or the method is, cheating must be punished. Having 16k is a huge advantage, no matter if the guys using it are good without it. Would you like to play against someone who uses speedhack because he's a pro and will win anyway ? Serves them right, cheating in any form in any given match (gather, mix, tournament online- and offline) is despicable in my opinion, it is nice to see that ESL is sticking by their rules. Why cant everyone just respect and play by the rules? Sigh.. Wether these individuals need this cheat or not is kind of irrelevant. That is like saying "Lance Armstrong did use drugs, but he would have won all those titles regardless of the drug abuse, he just used drugs for fun on a couple occasions, so why punish him?".. Those kinds of "arguments" are just too damn silly.. "It was just a stupid versus match".. Last time I checked ESL did not allow cheating in versus matches, neither is it commonly accepted to cheat in matches that are not of higher importance (Gathers Etc), I might be wrong tho? Sorry guys, but those individuals who participated in this wont receive much sympathy from me or anyone else that has a zero tolerance for cheating. That being said I do not understand the fact that the organization itself is being barred from future EPS season(s), that seems a bit off to me. As a final note I find it amusing to look at "Andrue" ESL profile "It was only money cheat :D I have only been caught once xDDDDD", nice attitude man.. Good riddance I say.

just saw that they were banned for a 16k moneyhack in a vs match that they would have won anyways wich i find (if it is true that this is the only reason) a bit overreacted, a simple vs bann for one month or so would have been enough impov.
