During a gun fight, I think throwing your gun at someone would take much longer than just seeking for cover or stabbing them depending on range because throwing that hard would require quite the wind ...

You can do that, just reload after each shot? Imagine how sick you would be 1 year down the line if you then stop reloading but use all 5 shots damn.
