NorthCon format released
The tournament organisers behind NorthCon have revealed the format for the CS:GO tournament.
NorthCon is gathering a lot of attention from the CS:GO community with its €9,000 competition, which is expected to attract some of the biggest names in the European scene.
The tournament will kick off with four groups of four teams, with the winner of each group automatically progressing to the second group stage.
The second and third-placed teams will have to play a relegation phase to determine the last four teams that will enter their names in the second group stage.
The last eight teams will then be divided into two groups of four, with the two winners reaching the semi-finals, while the second and third-placed sides will have to play another relegation phase.
The single-elimination playoffs will then follow, with the semi-finals, the Grand Final and the third-place decider all using a best-of-three format.
The schedule for the tournament can be found on NorthCon's official website by going here.
There is still no information about the participants' list for the CS:GO tournament, but stay tuned to HLTV.org for all the latest updates on NorthCon, which will take place from December 14-15 in Neumünster, a town in the north of Germany.
