Blog: Get cancer and die - my version
20-5-2010 14:45
The game started with "have fun and good luck", and ended with my phrase
"get cancer and die".
What happened? This is my version.
Facts
We got whined out by e-Stro
Fnatic got whined out by e-Stro in the group play.
E-stro also tried to whine out emuLate after another defeat.
I got accused for duckjumping.
I got kicked from MYM
I stoped playing Counter-Strike.
Let's start with the match. After we won we got the message "don’t leave,e-Stro whined", we waited for two hours. Finally we got the message: "KF3 duckjumped". The feeling I had that moment was great, since everyone playing with or against me know I'm the only player who can't manage to duckjump, even if I try. So I walked around with this great feeling, thinking we were in the quarter final against Emulate (who won their match). We had seen
teams like Pentagram get knocked out and fnatic flopped due whine of e-Stro in the group stage. We had been playing strongly and we could actually start feeling the win of WCG 2007 along with 50 000$ come closer.
Another hour went by, and then we saw e-Stro jumping up from their chairs screaming and pointing at their monitor. Everyone gathered around. They found an illegal duckjump. nOLA had duckjumped at de_nuke in a 5v1 situation where he(a e-Stro player was going to save(as CT), and ten seconds before the bomb blew up. In other words, this did not affect the game. While e-Stro
got to watch the demo for 3 hours we were not allowed to view the demos from WCG, and e-Stro got it provided. They told us, "If you watch the demo and don’t find anything, you are disqualified. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. However, as the gambling person I am, I wanted to watch the demo but got voted down. We got some sympathy from HLTV and Fragbite and since
HLTV had the demo we got a hold of it. I ran down to the media room with some guys from Fragbite and MYM. Just before I was ready to watch the demo I got the message "two min, then walkover. E-Stro is ready..."
We started playing the third map de_dust2 and got the message from admin: "After the match we will not be able to see ANY demos, since we are behind of schedule due e-Stro time delay". They had two admins watching the game behind each team, securing it would not be any duckjumping.
So we played and I looked over at e-Stro, their admins laughed, talked and ate, and did not pay so much attention to e-Stro. While our admins looked at us like we were some kind of criminals.
Surprisingly (no brainer) we saw a youtube-video some days after of e-Stro duckjumping. The WCG admins had missed like fifty duckjumps on each side.
Juve9le and I snapped in the moment of heat. My phrase "get cancer and die" got a little more attention though'. It was a sentence which I wrote in anger and with no doubt in the moment of heat.
I regret writing it only because of those who have loved ones with cancer or for those who know someone who have it. However, I've got no good thoughts left for the e-Stro players what so ever which tried win WCG 2007 on walkovers. Never seen a team lack so much fair play.
I was also extremely disappointed of WCG which I felt saw everything black and white.
Well shit happened and we went home, at least I had a good memorable stay in the US.
While entering the door home the players of MYM said I was replaced by face. I got contacted by the MYM owners and they said it was the other player’s wishes. I took elemeNt’s spot that event and returned with a good feeling of my own performance that was confirmed by him immediately. Therefore I did not see it coming.
I can imagine why I was kicked; maybe it had to do with my phrase?
I'm still not sure this day, and I have not got any explanation by any of them, just the message about my replacement.
I know many of you saw this as a childish or foolish act by me, but I don't want to excuse myself to the e-Stro players. My explanation is what I did while I felt I was robbed for 50 000$ on a wrong and unfair way. We had prepared for some months and saw it all go down the drain and that was obviously a hard thing to handle at the age of 18.
We were also demanded by the MYM organization to place top 3 if we wanted to stay; they obviously changed that demand after the e-Stro match. I was also shocked by the media who let e-Stro get away with it without any pressure or any questions what so ever.
Hope everything is cleared up and that you got a little more information and understanding of the situation.
