molodoy claims second MVP in rookie year at IEM Chengdu

The AWPer from Kazakhstan has earned a second Most Valuable Player accolade in his bid for Rookie of the Year.

Danil "⁠molodoy⁠" Golubenko has claimed the IEM Chengdu MVP award, presented by 1xBet, making this the second such individual accolade the 20-year-old has earned in his rookie year after also being named MVP at FISSURE Playground 2 in September.

On top of his team-high 1.27 rating in FURIA's road to lifting the IEM Chengdu trophy, molodoy had the highest K-D difference (+88), KPR (0.85), 1+ KPR (55.7%), 1vsX won (10), AWP KPR (0.53), and Round Swing (+3.86%) of the whole tournament.

molodoy was also fifth in damage difference per round (+14.8), fourth in total kills (260), second in DPR (0.56), fifth in opening duel success (69.0%), and fourth in impact rating (1.35).

After dominating through the group stage and against The MongolZ in the quarter-finals, with a 1.57 rating in FURIA's first playoff match, he had a team-leading 1.39 rating in the crucial Mirage map that ended the series with Falcons 2-0, and posted a third-highest 1.19 rating in the grand final with a series-high +2.40% Round Swing.

FURIA have two more events before the end of the year and the ensuing awards season: BLAST Rivals, which will kick off on Wednesday, November 12, and the StarLadder Budapest Major which will bookend the year running from Stage 1 opening day on November 24 to the grand final on December 14.
