You don't know what you're talking about. It has to do with fnatic's play style and how they played the CT side. coL doesn't do good against aggressive setups where they can't set up and execute their strats properly. VeryGames and Astana played much more passive and tactical than fnatic and that works to coL's advantage. This is also why coL has trouble with NiP.

if they arent good enough to beat alternative playstyles then they arent good enough full stop which was pretty much what i said in the first place in order to win big tournaments you have to be able to adapt if you are entirely incapable of winning a round without being allowed plenty of time to set up strats then you arent good enough to win and you dont deserve to win either sry :/

i dont think nip were saving strats when they started losing to vg vg and nip are very close in terms of skill rather it was a case of nip not needing strats until vg started beating them then all of a sudden vg have not only the skill to match nip, but also a whole bunch of strats up their sleeve, while nip have none of that theyve just gone away and worked really hard on developing not only strats of their own but competent antistrats yeah nip top1 again, but not by a huge margin tbh edit: omg u edit ur post after i reply :<

COME ONE COL!!! In the past 10 years I was always "against" the American teams, always cheering for the European teams. BUT it made me sick to see all the assholes on HLTV writing hate comments towards the Americans without any reason ("lol Americans always so bad at CS herp derp"), mostly coming from Eastern Europeans who only joined the CS scene in like 2010 with Navi's success and who know shit about the old era of CS where the Americans where an important part of CS and played on a high international level. I didn't say that there were no good Eastern European teams before 2010 (also I didn't count Poland to East-Europe). What I said is that after Navi had success in 2010 intentional websites like HLTV got flooded with Eastern Europeans. On older website like gotfrag and SK there weren't even half as much East-Europeans (thinking about it: there were a lot more Germans and Americans, but while CS became more popular in East Europe, it lost audience in the West, only the Scandinavians seems as dedicated as they've always been, but that's because CS is a lot more in the focus in these countries).

True that American teams were majors back in the days, but if we talk about CS:GO they haven't proven themselves yet to be really contender for major title. And to make it clear: Eastern European teams were decent in CS from the very beginning as well as Scandinavians, while West Europe was pretty weak except Germans (talking about 1.6). You probably don't remember WCG 2002 when Russian team was a champion, but you must know that G5 was one of the best teams in the CS history. So the fan-base from East Europe were quite big for so long.

IMO they are as much of a contender as teams like AD, Navi or US. They only get half as often the chance to play in an international tournament (since most of them are in Europe) and mostly they did pretty good. E.g. their top team met Verygames twice on a tournament and won both times. If you think AD is a top contender, then coL must also be one. "East Europe were decent in CS from the very beginning as well as Scandinavians, while West Europe were pretty weak except Germans(talking about in 1.6)." Let's look at the facts: hltv.org/?pageid=135&userid=62854 Before 2005 East-Europeans teams had very few success, only 4 top3 finishes in 4 years (one in 2002, 1 in 2004, 2 in 2005). Then in late 2005 the story of the Golden Fives began. But except the Golden Fives, there was no East-European team anywhere close to the top in 2006. Only in late 2007 finally some some good Ukrainians appeared and made a top3 finish. In 2008 only one top3 finish from a non-Polish East-European team. Same in 2009. Especially the Russians, who made the very few success in 2002-2005 possible had no success at all after 2005. Long story short: In the first 5 years of CS East-European teams achieved almost nothing and in the next 4 years only the Polish team of the Golden Five was really successful.

When Americans reach the finals I will call them real contender. They had a chance again but got destroyed by Fnatic. Let's see...we had M19 in 2002, then we had Virtus.pro with some titles, ForZe, Eyesports, tpUsports, M5..Ukranians had A-gaming, Dts, Navi and some others, who got titles, and Kazakhstan team with Adren as I remember also got some. Not as much as Scandinavia, but fan base existed from the start of competitive CS. As for AD, I think they are not uber shit but they are not prepared for top1. Their game is inconsistant and i made a conclusion after watching i-views that they have weak preparation for tournaments.They are on the CPH level, and even fnatic is better now.

Lucky win vs VG sorry but VG wasnt VG there played bad and the last round summed it up for them, and all the hype about AD they are not good honestly with or without Edward, fnatic yesterday played amazingly seriously and you could see it today those calls, you just get a trade against them and the other guy pops up and kills you from behind they were everywhere, this young guys are talented and they needed a proper IGL (pronax) to guide them they were hungry and talented plus they play alot, they placed 2nd in DH Summer under Epsilon with no experience at all.
