$40,000 Game Evolution announced

The organisers behind Game Evolution have announced that they will put together a CS:GO tournament with $40,000 in cash prizes.

After iMpulse came out on top of Golden Hall in 1.6 back in December, Counter-Strike will return to Dubai, now with the game's latest installment, as Dubai will stage a tournament that will certainly attract some of the world's strongest sides.

A total of 20 teams will be in action at Game Evolution, which will be held between November 15th to 16th at the Dubai World Trade Center, with four of them being directly invited by the organisation.

Dubai to stage massive eSports tournament

There will also be League of Legends, Dota 2, Fifa 13 and Super Street Fighter tournaments at the event, which will feature a total prize purse of $150,000.

Moreover, Index Conferences & Exhibitions Dubai, the organisers of the event, stressed that all prizes will be paid on location after the tournaments have come to an end.

Meanwhile, a partnership has been established with Emirates Airlines, which will allow the players who sign up for the tournaments to have special discounts on their plane tickets. The teams will also benefit from special conditions on hotels that have partnered with the event.

Stay tuned to HLTV.org as we will bring you all the info about Game Evolution.

You are wrong. It has been on a steady rise. They "fucked up" 1.6 5-7 days ago but there has been a rise long before that. here's the facts/stats: steamgraph.net/index.php?action=graph&js.. You are wrong. EOD.

CS:GO's player numbers aren't really rising since ....month. Always something from 20-30k concurrent players. If they would've gone up to 40k in the last few month ..that would be a rise worth mentioning. But staying at 20-30k for months now? Despite all those tournaments? Cmon ...what a joke ...

I don't think anyone has said that companys won't be overinvesting in to CS:GO initially to test the game out. Viewership won't come, tournaments will disappear.

obviously i care but since we are speaking about videogame-tournaments you should just live on present moment If you want competitive FPS to die out in the near future, keep thinking like that. If you want competitive FPS to get back to it's glory days, wrong attitude. LoL, Dota2, SC2 .... im 100% sure we will still see those games in the future ( talking about at least 5 years ...). CS:GO? We will see next year ..as i've always said: 2013 will be an extremely important year for CSGOk, if it fucks up this year it will pretty much go down 2014-15 ....

there won't be a CSGO international. CS:GO doesn't have to compete with another competitive FPS = no need to invest unnecessary tons of money.
