Cph Games structure explained

The Copenhagen Games organisers have shed some light on how the event's CS:GO tournament has been structured.

After the last editions of Copenhagen Games were a resounding success, the community is highly anticipating the 2013 event, which will be held between March 27th to 31st at Øksnehallen, an exhibition centre in the heart of the Danish capital.

The main CS:GO tournament, which will feature a prize purse amounting to €33,000, will consist of 32 teams, 16 of whom will be picked by the organisation out of all the applicants.

The remaining 16 sides will come from the 32-team qualifier, which will take place one day before the main tournament.

On March 29th, the main tournament will kick off with the group stage, which will consist of eight groups of four teams. The group winners and runners-up will progress to the Upper Bracket, while the third and fourth-placed sides will have to fight for survival in the Lower Bracket.

Yeah I agree, I used it for insomnia46 & also epic.TEN last weekend, and it worked brilliantly, just need a proper schedule to cope with such a way. But I believe it is by far the fairest way to sort the men from the boys.

It would be really great to see a BO5 final or in this case of double elim., first to three maps with upper bracket winner having one map bonus. Of course this is only possible if everything runs smoothly and time of the finals is early enough.

I guess that the delay was because every single map ended up in 3 or 4 overtimes. That was just insane with all those overtimes...
