Quantic, Epsilon with big wins

Quantic Gaming have guaranteed a top two placing in group D aftera  2-1 win versus ALTERNATE (19-17, 14-16, 16-7) while Epsilon have upset Na`Vi 2-1 (16-13, 12-16, 16-13) in group B.

Quantic Gaming started off with a close 7-8 half versus ALTERNATE on de_inferno_se's terrorist side. Kory "semphis" Friesen's four pistol round headshots gave the North American side control, and they took the lead briefly.

After trading more rounds, Quantic found themselves up 14-12 before the Germans won three in a row to force map point. Quantic tied the game, and wound up winning in overtime after two 2-1 halves.

Second map, de_nuke_se, was an altogether different story. ALTERNATE racked up a massive lead on the terrorist side of the map, scoring twelve rounds on the much harder side.

hiko's Quantic came through despite struggling in ALTERNATE match

Quantic were able to bring the score back to 14-15, but this time the German side led by Manuel "mnL" Oberlain was able to secure the map win with a score of 16-14 to bring the series to a third map.

Final map de_train_se wasn't at all as close as the first two, as the North American squad started their terrorist side with a strong 6-0 run, eventually finishing with ten rounds.

ALTERNATE attempted yet another comeback in the second half, but this time they were denied by strong SCAR play by Carey "frozt" Kertenian among others, as Quantic won 16-7 for a 2-1 overall win.

Meanwhile Natus Vincere matched up with Epsilon, whose reputation certainly precedes them, at least online. The young Swedes showed impressive play in Copenhagen though, having already taken a map from fnatic earlier.

This time they would start the series versus Na`Vi with a strong performance on de_train_se, where they managed to clinch a close 16-13 win after trading rounds at the end.

Second map de_mirage_go was all Yegor "markeloff" Markelov. The best player in 2010 showed he still has it in CS:GO, racking up a 19/5 score on the counter-terrorist side as Na`Vi went up 10-5.

Epsilon thrilled after beating Na´Vi

Epsilon came close to mounting a comeback in the second half, but Markelov contributed another good performance with a 13/7 score, totaling at 32/12 for +20, to tie the series with a 16-12 win.

Final map of the series, as it was for Na`Vi in Vienna versus VeryGames, was de_inferno_se. Once again Na`Vi struggled, this time as counter-terrorists, and their B pushes led to a 4-11 deficit.

Thanks to a pistol round win as terrorists they were able to claw their way back into the game in the second half, but they wouldn't get close than 13-16 as Epsilon would surprise everyone by a 2-1 upset win in Copenhagen.

Quantic Gaming have now guaranteed a top two placing in group D and will face off against Temp.no for the first seed soon. Na`Vi can only hope for a BX3 upset versus Epsilon, or to make top two through a three-way tie in group B.

the guy who was supposedly caught cheating wasn't even playing... plus, this event is byoc. besides, epsilon online would have demolished na`vi 2-0 with scores of like 16-5 each, they are still clearly worse on lan, although much better than anyone (yours truly included) expected

I guess that you may feel annoyed by the ignorance of several users here on the site, but I see no reason for you to drop to their level by making a pretty dumb comment. It's nice that you take your time to answer and so on. Furthermore I think, that given previous accusations you should be man enough to admit, that you were wrong, and face the fact that these Epsilon guys are very good.

You might be right, neither of us can and will ever know how they would have done, if this wasn't byoc, and perhaps they aren't "very good", but at least they have a pretty high level of skill, considered that they just beat Na´Vi, and they were able to play a very close match against fnatic. My comment wasn't meant to be offending in any way, I just thought, that I would let you know, that it's foolish to deal with these kind of guys on their level, which in my opinion is somewhere near the bottom of the scale.

i was wrong, but they are also wrong with how much they are hyping epsilon now. then again words have zero meaning in today's society so i guess it shouldn't really matter. in the 60s you'd say it was amazing that america put people on the moon, today similar people would say their fast food was amazing. what can you do.

What would you define as good then? They almost beat fnatic taking them to extremely close maps. They DID beat Na'Vi. Teams that boast immensely more experienced LAN players than Epsilon, and in the case of Na'Vi, been together for god knows how long. Of course they aren't going to reminisce their previous online results of 16-7 shut outs or so considering the amount of pressure and experience they are up against. At the end of the day, I was damn sure they as a team cheated, and maybe they even did, but they have shown they can put in massive performances at LAN up against the best.

neither fnatic nor na`vi have proven to be super good teams in cs:go, despite their experience etc in cs 1.6. only two teams who are consistently playing at a very good level are verygames and nip, everyone else seems very random at this stage in the game.

i can speak for myself because i've played byoc tournaments (cpl world tour: barcelona qualifier for instance) and real touranments early on in my career (same weekend; my first international events in april[?] 2005) i was not nervous at all in a byoc qualifier because it's exactly like home -- you get to play as much csdm and warmup as you want, be on the computer all day, feel comfortable in the area etc. in a real tournament you setup, you get 15 minutes to warmup, and you go live. it's a totally different ballgame.

so what the fuck is the problem? they went through byoc and now they played at the tournament computers just like navi. they had no advantage. face it, they are not cheating. so what if they've been playing better online? they are better online, true, but that's because they don't have as much experience on lan plus everybody are calling them cheaters so they have even more pressure on them at lans. you can't just call them cheaters 'cause they're playing good online, people need to come with some actual proof.

they were probably nervous because they are swedish, so it wouldn't surprise me if they looked up to fnatic. same goes for nip, they were absolutely dominated online in that rc ems one cup final by them, so they were probably just nervous in those games because of the name power nip/fnatic bring.

how would i have any insight into the norwegian scene? they are complete punching bags in every event they play in, that's all i can go with. so far to me all that means is alternate was bad, not that temp was good. fm.toxic was a toss up the whole time due to roster changes etc.

Maybe some of the other norwegian teams, but temp has played as much as possible online and have proven themself there for a while now in a few good leagues and quals. So what you say is that Quantic is just as bad since alternate got one map against them and all the maps were so close? Your logic makes me sick! But thanks for the replay, made my day. Once again you show me that even a kid with two years of experience in the scene would have a more fair mind and a greater logic than yours. Even a bigger insight!

Quantic with a big win? really? Lurppis and HLTV.org predicted temp.no as 4th in the group and now they have won pretty comfortable against fm toxic and alternate with a 2-1 win against both, two teams that have had seeds from the very beginning. Yet again, the norwegians without seed and was predicted last have completed the group and will continue into the playoffs with maybe a 1st place if they win against Quantic now, something this team clearly can for sure. Pretty impressive dont you think? This should be the news you wrote, not about quantic in my opinion. But hey, they should get some credit for what they have achieved. I think a top4 placement for these guys are not out of sight if they get the 1st place in the group. Well done boys!

If they win against Quantic, they will meet a 2nd winner team. then they are already top8 if they win that match so yeah, it is possible with some kind of luck.

actually they can still easily lose if they face a second place team (epsilon/navi, lemondogs/3dmax, curse.na, esc, either wolves team, curse, xapso) and even if they do win, they would only have 9-12th guaranteed. it's double elim.

Yeah i just noticed the double elimination. Yeah there is some good teams but nothing i cant see is impossible for temp. But with even a 9-12th placement at this lan must be surprising for the most viewers and players.

it's an okay placing for a team like temp.no, but then again anyone can make top12 through lower bracket if they just play a few good games. in my opinion only results that matter are top3 like placings when teams beat multiple good teams and prove they are good, or weak teams upsetting good teams, which proves the weak teams aren't as weak as we thought. epsilon would fall under that category, whereas i'm not that surprised over alternate losing to tempno.

lurppis your a stupid kid, just admit that your wrong? There is very few teams that play better on lan and these few teams are the very top teams who have been playing on alot more lan events and big events then the guys in Epsilon have. Ofcourse they are going to play better on internet? Just like in 1.6 you talk alot and can never admit that a "newcomer" is better until they win WCG ESWC CPL CPGH!

the reason he and many of us care is simply because you have the 'admin' ability to share your thoughts/oppinions to the world, creating topics here on hltv.org on the main page so everyone (thousands of people) can see and believe you. The main point out of all that here is that by sharing your own opinion with the world here you making other countries/teams look bad in other people's eyes, and it looks even worse when your predictions fail...which happens quiet often :( Just take the resent prediction regarding your thought over ESC, VP, NaVi - you 100% failed...

cs:go is super random beyond nip and vg so you might as well flip a point for most results. my predictions are based on the past results, which is all i can go with. if teams fail to live up to them, there's nothing i can do about it. i'm not going to start guessing matches based on no evidence.

wasnt really a surprise though :( Techlabs showed that neither ESC nor NaVi were really prepared for this even though many did say TECHLABS was random, but as we can see now it's not the case...and the result proving this was ESC losing 2:0 to mouz today and NaVi loosing to EPSILON... gl in lower bracket though...hope NaVi and ESC can make it out and I wanna see the accused in cheating Swedes to make it out of the groups...they look really promising!!!
