fnatic, Epsilon top group B over Na`Vi

Copenhagen Games admins have ruled the group B tie-breakers in fnatic's favor, which means the Danes and Epsilon will advance to the upper bracket over Na`Vi.

For a while it seemed as if the admins were going to count the round difference among the three tied participants, as they were tied in maps. That would have put Na`Vi first, Epsilon second and fnatic out.

However, after discussing the situation for more than thirty minutes, the admin team of Copenhagen Games have decided to simply include the BX3 matches into the tie, which will knock Na`Vi out due to their default loss.

starix & co are sent to the lower bracket due to a forfeit map loss vs BX3

The Default loss came, according to Na`Vi, because the admins told them to arrive at the event an hour later than they were supposed to. Once they arrived, the computers they had rented wouldn't work, and one had to be changed.

In the end, Ukrainian fans will be disappointed as their flagship team will be sent to lower bracket due to that default map loss versus BX3, who wasn't able to score double digit rounds against any opponent.

I'm not replying you, but whole HLTV. NaVis manager told HLTV in an interview, that they arrived at 10 am sharp. They did not, they were no where to be seen at 10 am, infact they arrived around 10-15 minutes later than the start of the groups. Even some guy has a photo of NaVi arriving or something.

lol. ALL OTHER TEAMS showed up on time except for Na'Vi and then they blame the admins. rofl. Here's what really happened, they slept late, showed up, realized the admins didn't a give shit about their fame and gave them a penalty. Then they got mad like the little princesses they are and started whining about how unfair it was. Good job cph admins, so tired of events letting big names get away with bs simply because they are famous.

This has nothing to do with the map forfeit loss dude. CPH reglement says this : "If teams are tied on points in any group stage the standing between these teams will be decided firstly by the result of the match between the teams concerned, then by points differential in the matches between the teams concerned and then by points differential in all matches concerning the teams in question." First, Fnatic won Epsilon, Epsilon won Na'Vi, Na'Vi won Fnatic, so this doesn't settle it. Second, Na'vi has better point differential than fnatic so normally, they should have been in upper bracket... BUT if you take the third option (which should have come only if needed), which means including BX3 matches, then their forfeit loss puts them behind... This is so freaking convenient don't you think ? :)

CPH Admins are idiots Make team give default loss because of lateness, but it's ok if the tournament is running late and games are delayed. Also messed up Quantic invite to start... it's sad the way esports tournaments are run. ESEA will show how it's done

Disagree. Every CS tournament is plagued with delays, if Na'Vi didn't turn up early and prepare then they got what they deserved. I hope future tournaments give default losses to late comers.

If points means "maps" rather than "rounds" then they are all level and the tie breaker would be the result against the 4th team in the group. Linguistic ambiguity isn't really what you want from a rulebook.

Finally admins show some balls. If this wasnt NaVi you guys would think this decision was good. Listen to the podcast with lurrpis, carn and thorin, they will say the same, that the admins in the past has been pussies for not giving big teams punishments. Even if they were 1 min late there should be punishment. And I do not believe that the admins told them another time than the time they put up themself.

trolling? it is a three-way-tie. ALL of the 3 teams lost against one of the 3 and won over one of the 3. that's why it comes to the round difference since you cannot make a logical conclusion based on those wins. get it?

I don't really get this whole conflict, am I counting like a moron or what? Why would the admin change their mind about a verdict that was decided 10 hours ago? 1. fnatic 5-3 (+2) 2. Epsilon 5-3 (+2) 3. Na'Vi 5-4 (+1) 4. BX3 1-6 (-5)

If teams are tied on points in any group stage the standing between these teams will be decided firstly by the result of the match between the teams concerned, then by points differential in the matches between the teams concerned and then by points differential in all matches concerning the teams in question. Your count is based on BX3 matches included. The fact is that BX3 matches should have been included ONLY if the second option didn't settle the tie (which it did, putting Na'Vi ahead of fnatic).

They counted like that from the start so how is it any different? People really have to start read posts before commenting.

And once again... how come only NaVi was late? :) They act like prima donna. Stupid explanation about default. Just check the goddamn schedule twice, if not sure check again :P Don't be late :P

I did: copenhagengames.com/page/rules-komplett-.. If teams are tied on points in any group stage the standing between these teams will be decided firstly by the result of the match between the teams concerned, then by points differential in the matches between the teams concerned and then by points differential in all matches concerning the teams in question.

what else ? Since the next part of the sentence obviously is about the rounds. edit: I mean I don't see any other way to interpret this: If teams are tied on points in any group stage -> That's the point W/T/D firstly by the result of the match between the teams concerned -> that's the maps then by points differential in the matches between the teams concerned -> that's the rounds

firstly by the result of the match between the teams concerned -> that's the maps no its just direct comparison, doesnt work out in a 3way tie then by points differential in the matches between the teams concerned -> that's the rounds that, in the way the admins intrepeted it, are the maps played between navi/fnatic/epsilon and then by points differential in all matches concerning the teams in question. because they defined "points" as map points and the teams had the same amount of maps won between each other(navi/fnatic/epsilon), they included the maps differential against BX3

Even with this, their rule says that ties are broken by total number of points, and they also say " In the main group stages teams will receive 2 points for a victory, 0 points for a loss." So navi did not lose any points even by that default loss to BX3. As far as I see, total number of points for all navi, epsilon, fnatic are 12. And they don't specify the method to break this tie.

Exactly. I don't understand why the admins can not apply the rules written in the competition rule set. It's pretty clear and consistent.

They say " In the main group stages teams will receive 2 points for a victory, 0 points for a loss." But even with this, I am not sure how navi gets 3rd place.

wow, amazing lack of common sense from the admins. Sucks for navi to have their chances in the tournament affected by such a petty decision. So what if their was a minor delay in their first game, its not like it caused any massive problems with the rest of the scheduling. No harm, no foul

"If teams are tied on points in any group stage the standing between these teams will be decided firstly by the result of the match between the teams concerned, then by points differential in the matches between the teams concerned and then by points differential in all matches concerning the teams in question." Does anybody know what do they mean by "points" here?

Or you can look at it another way. Fnatic and Epsilon were better than Na'Vi and deserve to advance.

so after 30 minutes of discussion, the admins decided to take that match into account which never happened. In India we term this decision as 'chutiyapa' Fuck CPH
