Quantic, fnatic with dominant wins

Quantic Gaming have defeated mousesports 2-0 (16-4 de_train_se, 16-5 de_inferno_se) while fnatic has also knocked Lemondogs to the lower bracket 2-0 (16-7 de_mirage_go, 16-14 de_train_se)

mousesports won the opening pistol round on train's terrorist side, but their good start was quickly nullified as Quantic won a save on round three. mouz went for a force buy after, but Spencer "hiko" Martin's clever flank got him three kills and the round.

From there on out mousesports tried every attack imaginable while still focusing on the innre bombsite overall, but simply could not crack the North Americans' defense, losing eleven straight rounds.

A slow outer attack finally gave them theird third round at 3-11, but Carey "frozt" Kertenian's one-on-two SCAR win made sure all the momentum stayed with Quantic for the half switch.

In the second half it was mouz' turn to lose the pistol round and although they were able to win the fourth round after almost losing a five-on-two, they were quickly defeated on round five, 16-4.

After a quick break Quantic attacked the smaller bombsite of de_inferno_se and quickly took care of the Germans' defense, going up 3-0 after the two consecutive save rounds.

semphis' beard stays in the upper bracket

First weapon round went to Quantic as well, and before long it was obvious mousesports simply didn't have the strategies nor the firepower to match Quantic, who kept building up their lead.

Up 8-1 all of a sudden, mouz were able to win two rounds in a row, the North Americans once again replied right after to make 10-3 in their favor on the terrorist side of de_inferno_se.

Andre "nooky" Utesch scored four impressive M4A4 frags in the A site to give mouz their fourth round, but Sam "DaZeD" Marine's three kills on a force buy once again took away all of mouz' momentum, making it 11-4 at half.

Kory "semphis" Friesen took matters into his own hands in the second half, as he pushed down the middle for a P2000 pick and followed that up by two stationary kills.

mousesports would score one more weapon round in the half, but were simply outmatched in this best-of-three, outscored 9-32 overall, and lost de_inferno_se with a score of 5-16.

fnatic started de_mirage_go off on the wrong foot as they lost the opening pistol round as counter-terrorists despite a three-on-one advantage versus Anton "waver"
Wiberg.

Lemondogs went up 3-0 as terrorists, but fnatic's defense proved to be almost unbreakable, winning ten straight rounds and eleven overall to switch sides at 11-4.

Second half saw Lemondogs once again win the pistol round, but fnatic's star fragger Andreas "MODDII" Fridh won a smart one-on-three to give fnatic map point at 15-7, and the Danes wasted no time in picking up map one.

Spitfire's Lemondogs couldn't match fnatic in the quarter-finals

On de_train_se it was Fridh once again who got fnatic an important round as his Glock kills won them the terrorist side pistol round, but Lemondogs' brick wall defense completely stopped them, as fnatic trailed 3-12 at half.

Things looked only worse as Lemondogs won the second half pistol round, all of a sudden leading 14-3 with a huge money advantage on their side after one save round by the Danes.

However, fnatic bought on third round and put up a wall of their own, showing great teamplay and solid individual skill overall as they went onto win thirteen straight rounds to clinch a 16-14, 2-0 win.

I expected Quantic to be good at this event, even maybe make it to the finals, but I'm still surprised anyway. We'll see what they can do.

To say fnatic was dominating LD is so wrong. Equal good teams but alot more mistakes from lemondogs.

With comments like this one from one of the pillars of the cs community, how can we attract more people to the scene? The usage of the word "retards" is such a childish way of expressing oneself. You should really tone down your language, I assure you Lurppis, you'll get your message through anyway.

we can't attract more people to the scene; someone needs to get more people in the game first -- just about everyone who play cs:go plays competitively and follows it, but the game simply by itself isn't popular enough.

I for one started playing and watching Starcraft largely due to the way the community is, with a much more mature and constructive approach than this one. Beginning to play a game actively isn't just a question of how good of a game it is, it is also a question of everything around it, as you surely know being a major contributor to CS content with the PODcast and everything you do with HLTV.org. If you are so hopeless about the game's future, why spend so much time on things surrounding it? I just assume that there's no money in it, and it doesn't seem to be that much fun for you. Or is it?

i enjoy watching the former 1.6 players i have respect for compete, and of course the people i'm friends with. i do [pod]cast just to sort of help the community, for hltv.org work (which takes way more time) i get paid a part time salary. obviously i wouldn't ruin my weekends covering tournaments if i had nothing to gain from it, but i also wouldn't do what i do for the money i get if i hated it.

If you get paid, I just don't understand how you can get away with (occasionally) acting so unprofessional in the discussion on a site where you are considered an authority.

nope he said it multiple times on gotfrag forums, before he himselve was an absolute top canadian player and not known to international audience just a year before that I started saying gazr would become an insane player :P he did but I guess semphis was closer, as gazr never won international events (though I do feel the circumstances -lack of sponsor and competition- prevented him and benor from growing into international powerhouse)
