ESH comments on GO TV lag

EsportsHeaven has released a statement to address the issue of the lag that is affecting the GO TV servers today.

The fans woke up today to the news that the GO TV servers were experiencing severe lags, which completely ruined the viewing experience for them.

Since the streamers were also connected go the public GO TV servers, that was not exactly an alternative, leaving fans in despair as they could not watch the matches.

It has now been confirmed that the lags were caused by a massive DDoS attack on the tournament's dedicated servers, something that has not affected the game servers as they are not directly connect to the Internet.

Esports Heaven told HLTV.org that private GO TV servers will be set up for the shoutcasters so that they can stream the matches smoothly.

"This morning the dedicated servers used to host the GOTV for our Mad Catz CS:GO Invitational Birmingham were hit by a powerful DDoS attack, which has caused stability issues for spectators, as well as our live stream," a Esports Heaven statement read.

"Beginning approximately half an hour after the tournament resumed play this morning we saw up to 1Gbps traffic coming into our servers as part of this attack, which was enough to cause the performance problems we have been seeing.

"Steps have been taken to prevent this attack from causing problems, with the offending IP addresses being null-routed to keep this traffic away from the servers. Our technical team are currently working on additional networking tweaks to further improve stability and ensure the TV servers and stream stay online for the remainder of the event.

"It is important to note that the game servers our teams are playing on are not directly connected to the internet, and as such no players have been affected by these DDoS attacks, nor can they be.
