paiN fold; cogu teamless

According to myCNB.com.br, paiN's CS:GO division have decided to call it quits.

Created in December with three former members of paiN's 1.6 squad, the Brazilian team made headlines in February when they landed Raphael "cogu" Camargo after the famous AWPer had been removed from ProGaming.TD.

Given the lack of professional tournaments taking place in Brazil right now, however, paiN had rarely been seen in action, with their only achievement being a second-place finish in the Razer CS:GO Challenge.

Last month, rumors emerged that Frederico "atx" Maia and Willian "Lul4" Elias had both parted company with paiN, and it has now been confirmed that the team have disbandment.

cogu & co now free agents

It is believed that the team have grown disillusioned with the lack of CS:GO action in Brazil and also the lack of commitment shown by Raphael "cogu" Camargo since he was drafted in.

paiN had the following players:

Brazil Felippe "felippe1" Martins
Brazil Frederico "atx" Maia
Brazil Willian "LuL4" Elias
Brazil Lorenzo "lrz" Araujo
Brazil Raphael "cogu" Camargo

The major problem of the Brazilian scenario, is that the players still play much in CS1.6, not to mention that there are no championships and no motivation for players migrate to CSGO, is the fact that the brand COUNTER STRIKE in Brazil, has died long time.

Our scene csgo in Brazil is poor. We dont have leagues, players, teams to train and enough sponsors... no one can focus 100% on csgo because no one have a return... gl in real life cogu... gl paiN! ps: more brazilian teams can follow the paiN's way!

Taco, i think the main problem is the lack of websites covering the game. TeamPlay is dead. We had 2 tournaments going unnoticed... 2 tournaments in 3 weeks with decent prize money. TD is in charge of another one for next month.. 1.5k BRL cash. There is also a lan tournament in the next few months. We try but we really can't do everything. Someone have to inform the fucking community. Look at Europe there are a plenty of tournaments going in and all we heard is about DreamHack or some big lan tournament...The community simply doesn't know a thing... so they keep waiting for the return of 1.6.

And the lack of coverage is because of the lack of interest from gamers in general. Most brazillian FPS players probably don't even know that CSGO exists, and those who do can't accept that 1.6 is over (plus they get 1.6 free through piracy). Look at the number of people watching popular streamers like gordox when he casts CSGO matches, its always so few, and you look at the chat on twitch.tv you get some people asking "Which game is this? Is it a new Call of Duty?". The same thing happens on popular game vlogs on youtube. Two or three months ago I found out Leetway, and noticed it had 2 brazillian servers, 128 tickrate, low ping, that was so awesome. I tried to start PUGs there until the servers were shut down because simply there weren't people playing. I tried inviting people I met on community servers, they didn't show much interest, and frankly, sometimes is hard to find even a mix where no one bails out before the 10th round, most people just want to play 4fun. Maybe after Valve implements brazillian servers on MM things will change, lets wait and see.

I agree with you in almost every point but i still think its the other way around. At razer cup for instance, the game between pA vs Pain reached 18k ppl.. Not bad imo. Coverage is fundamental, even if its just to state to the community that the game is not dead (yet).

CS: GO is very fallen here in Brazil yet. To grow the community I think sites like TeamPlay should publicize these tournaments would not be too absurd to ask for HLTV.org disclose, when you championships here in Brazil such as: ESEA, BatalhaGamer etc., these sites disclose, also convey these games stream, as professional players FalleN, bit1, galley TeamTD etc., make streams on CS: GO, Gordox made direct stream of CS: GO and also stopped. If these people who are making those streams quite known for sure will give a busy largest in the scenario. And you guys do the weekly BoltCamps too, just make a well organized camp that everybody will get to enjoy and participate. That's what I think.
