VeryGames win RC EMS One Summer

VeryGames have won RaidCall EMS One Summer 2013 finals after an easy 2-0 victory over Virtus.pro (16-8 de_mirage_ce, 16-11 de_dust2_se) for $12,000.

VeryGames opened up the grand final on de_mirage_ce with a quick push into the B bombsite where they wiped out Virtus' defenders. Two risky anti-eco pushes to B followed, with Virtus winning the third one versus a careless VeryGames team.

Nathan "NBK" Schmitt's four kill effort quickly shifted momentum back on VeryGames' side, as they extended their lead to 4-1. Virtus had no answers to the Frenchmen despite Sergey "Fox" Stolyarov's four save round kills, as they lost six more straight rounds.

Trailing 1-10, Stolyarov added three more AK47 kills in the B tunnel and scored his team just their second round of the half. Adil "ScreaM" Benrlitom replied with three AK47 kills of his own, and the last two rounds were traded for a 12-3 half time score.

Mihail "Dosia" Stolyarov's two entry frags into B gave Virtus the second half pistol round, but after barely missing out on the defuse in round two, Schmitt gets four kills on the third round to win his team a save round.

NBK was definitely the Finals MVP at RC EMS One

With Virtus.pro's play in shambles, they hung around for a couple of rounds, but weren't able to match the level of play Kevìn "Ex6TenZ" Droolans' team showed, and fell short 8-16.

Richard "shoxie" Papillon and Edouard "SmithZz" Dubourdeaux combined for four kills on de_dust2_se's counter-terrorist pistol round. The CIS-based squad's in-game leader Kirill "ANGE1" Karasiow then scored four AK47 kills on the third round, but even that wasn't enough, as Schmitt's one-on-four clutch won VG the round.

Virtus stuck to their game plan and wound up winning the next seven rounds in a row for a 7-3 lead, including a two-on-three by Sergey "Fox" Stolyarov and Emil "kucher" Akhundov in B as it looked like they were taking over the match.

VeryGames came back with a three-on-three retake win at A though, and although Virtus won the round after, the Frenchmen didn't surrender and took two more rounds, ultimately finishing with six as defenders.

VeryGames win their second international CS:GO event

Schmitt continued his MVP-level play by scoring three kills on the pistol round that effectively tied the game at nine. Fourth round went to VG as well, and after a save round they were in the lead at 11-9.

The Stolyarov brothers combined for five kills on round twenty-two, but had no time to defuse and VG extended their lead. The French then executed a full on B rush that put them up 14-9.

Ladislav "GuardiaN" Kovács clinched a one-on-one versus Schmitt on the next round to win Virtus a save round, and Sergey "Fox" Stolyarov's three kills secured an anti-eco for VP to make it 11-14.

That would be all the rounds Virtus.pro could muster up though, as they were simply shut down once more by VeryGames who clinched a 2-0 series win and their second international CS:GO tournament win after Mad Catz Birmingham in April.

That's not what I call being honest. NBK sure was amazing, as he is most of the time, but VG was clearly outstrating VP many times.

61 frags - 30 deaths 30 frags more than his 4 teammates, im not saying that it was only NBK but he was the main reason, he was simply amazing, he was the difference.

It could be called "the difference" if it was very close maps, but it wasn't. It's true that D2 had a lot of very close rounds, but several of them were won by other players than NBK (Scream and Shox for sure, I think Smithzz made one as well). So yes, he was on fire, but going like it was, even if he was just playing at his teammates level it would not have changed the final in my opinion. At the best we would have seen overtime on D2, MAYBE.

He had more kills than shoxie and Ex6Tenz combined. He did about 1.20 kills per round. The average K/D-Ratio in the team was about 1.10, making his ratio ~85% better than the squads average. (would've calculated this with rating, but I am too lazy to look up all the stats). Sure, most close rounds might have been won by his teammates, but a lot of those rounds wouldn't have been close at all if NBK played on the level of the other 4 guys that day. If his K/D-Ratio were the exact average of his other 4 teammates, VG would've ended up with a frag deficit of -18. Hard to imagine they'd win with that. (not even taking into account better weaponry for vp because of better cashflow, momentum, ...) Of course, these are just stats and don't account for the amount of anti-eco-frags, finishing off damaged enemies et cetera, nevertheless, those numbers are HUGE. Arguing that NBK wasn't the difference doesn't seem right because all objective criteria say he did.

NBK's huge play was obviously A PART in their victory, but without VG oustrating VP it wouldn't have been as effective at all, and concerning taking his stats down to the rest of his team's level, it doesn't make sense to me to do so, because in every CS game, if you have a teammate on fire, you may play your best match, you won't be able to frag a lot, simply because he will take it all. So taking off his incredible stats would have more than likely led to Shoxie and Scream stepping up to replace his mad fragging. That's my thoughts.

Rofl, so what? VG won VP in the finals, they deserved their 1st place. I dunno why all vp fanboys are so mad that VP lost to VG while verygames were clearly superior in this match. There were no luck, they just outplayed virtus.pro .

you can't be sure about it - vg could've knocked out NiP and then go to the finals, while VP could've lost to fnatic or even CPH Wolves and then go home. What is the point in "if"? VeryGames won Virtus.pro without any struggling, so i can say that they were better in this event and deserved their first place.

historically vg have never been able to beat nip. even when they had nip on the ropes and could have ended it early they couldnt put the rounds in. so no, i dont think vg can beat nip

Are you silly? there wasn't a single 1.6 player in the final, all 10 of them were CSGO players.
2013-06-30 23:05

Because there is no need to. I know people are fans of their "game", but you will and can't ever deny that the biggest amount of top players in CS:GO actually consists of 1.6 players :p

how is that so? VG - 5 source players, LDLC - 5 source players, VP - 1 source player, NiP - 2 source players, Epsilon - 2 source players, CPH - 5 source players, WW - 5 source players... NaVi and ESC don't really belong to the real top, and tbh neither did fnatic before their victory vs. LDLC.

Still, the skill of most CS 1.6 players is higher then the skill of most sourcers.. I am not saying one game is better then the other, just what the skills are saying. I.e. both f0rest and GeT_RiGhT is far above anyone else skillwise currently.. E: The game is more sourcebased, which makes it harder for 1.6 players to adapt to it. That does not mean anything that 1.6 players are less skilled. Just that it will take more time for them to learn the meta. If GO sticks around for a couple of years, we'll see how it goes. I guess it will bring alot of new players too!

" more sourcebased" thats a proper excuse ? Thats not real, and beside that, the game has +1 Year. IF they didnt managed to learn the game until now , they won never learn the game. F0rest ? you maybe right, GTR ?? Dont be stupid please young man. Friberg hes way better in head and aim. "Still, the skill of most CS 1.6 players is higher" How can you say this ? "VG - 5 source players, LDLC - 5 source players, VP - 1 source player, NiP - 2 source players, Epsilon - 2 source players, CPH - 5 source players, WW - 5 source players.." Why they arent in the top teams, if their skill is higher ? Dont be ridiculous LMAO

You can look at the stats , and se for example. Forest everygame like 30 +/- frags. And GTR in some games (easier task) he frags 40 guys , then he plays against VG and does like 13-17 . GTR against top teams, is a bit inconsistent, im not saying that he isnt one of the best players out there, but hes not the second/third for sure, friberg helps way more NiP then GTR (different roles as well but), RPK when he played was better then GTR and i think almost/equal to f0rest. You cant rate a player just for the stats !!

I disagree, GTR is the most consistent player I have ever seen (At least until mid-May, where he struggled a bit..) Show me negative scores from GTR? Quite sure there are almost none and he always does great under pressure, dont know what you are talking about. Stats might not be everything but they mean a lot, he is the top fragger of the game for a reason, in my mind he's clearly the second, but meh, we can agree to disagree, thats fine.

Not saying friberg is bad, he's really good, but comparing him to gtr and f0rest is just plain wrong.

I.e. both f0rest and GeT_RiGhT is far above anyone else skillwise currently.. 1.6 scene was like 10 times bigger than source scene and yet you can only can come up with 2 players? :S yes f0rest and GTR are great riflers, but the AWP is dominated by source players undoubtedly (guardian, nico, kennys). E: The game is more sourcebased, which makes it harder for 1.6 players to adapt to it. That's wrong... I'm not gonna bother with listing you all the major differences between the three games, I'll just link you to the first ever CSGO LAN that was played in June 2012, way before anyone even touched the game: hltv.org/?pageid=217&eventid=889

I think VP was tired after hard time with NIP. I belive that if they have more time to rest they could win EMS. I don't see how VG could beat NiP so in my view VP won EMS. Well in the end we saw some good CS and that what is important in the end of a day.

Other than NBK, VG did not deserve this win...no way they could have beaten NiP had NiP played against VG in the finals. Still, if Virtus can only manage to beat NiP and not win the other important games, well, their loss.

VG were outaiming VP in some situations. They rushed B a couple of times in d2 and got the kills (even when it was a fake). NBK was a total monster and that made a huge difference. I would say VP were perhaps a little tired after the match against NiP (not taking anything away from VG though, they played great). It would've been nice to see them perform tomorrow or something like that, to see the full potential of both. Btw, was it me or was the stream constantly lagging?

unfortunately VG arent as good as VP and its a known fact, VP beat nip like on 4-5 maps on lan now on different days and events which is also a known fact while VG havent won one a single map, so the main reason VG won was cause VP were too excited and had no break before the grand final while VG were resting in the back of VPs players, so if VP can beat NiP multiple times and VG cant then I dont know what to tell ya. I'm not taking away VGs win. They did a good job, but it really was VPs gold. If they managed to control their excitment and feelings after winning against NiP the result would be different and only a n00b can say otherwise. Ya, it's VPs fault for beeing too excited and their brains were all about NiPs win and therefore they couldnt get their act together, they need to work on that in the future, but still, Like I said earlier VG cant beat NiP still and VP have done it, so for VP those VG boiz aint a hard task, but unfortunately not today. I guess I am lookign for excuses, obviously it is sad, but to be honest I'm sure more ppl cared more bout VP vs NiP match today rather than VP vs VG. Im happy with VPs 2nd place today, cause today's main match was VP vs NiP and not VP vs VG...o let VG enjoy it while they can... so today's VG win is on one hand coutable physicaly and on the other isnt. Let VG win against NiP first, then we can talk bout them being good and pro winning VP ;) In any case, nothing has been taken away from VG. A win is a WIN, congratz, but smartz will get the point out of all that... gg

So , Dosia and all thoose players , with TONS of matches on lan, they play like this like 10 years ?? And still , get excited and loose all the concentration because they won NiP. Its seems like, thoose guys ,who go to the first lan, and are all scared , and win the first match and get all excited. THEY ARE NOT LIKE THAT, they have experience. VP is better then VG ? just because they won several times against NiP ? Doesnt matter if they lost to guys that arent even top 7/9, but if they have beatd NiP they are better then VG. VG otherwise, didnt get a single map from NiP, but already won ALL the teams , ON LAN, that are in the TOP5/10 . So its better to beat 1 and get raped by others , or win 8 and loose 1 ?

ITs not the point and im not here to argue over it, but VG would not make it to the finals if they met NiP on the way while VP would still have all the chances to beat NiP, so the final standings would look like 1st NiP or VP 2nd NiP or VP 3rd VG and like I said im not here to argue and not taking away their victory... A win is a win no matter how and what they did to get it... And just a little statment to you saying they've been playing for too many year - yes, it is true and they are professional and know how to handle such situations, but still NiP are the best in the world and won over 90 maps at first not losing a single map before they first lost to VP which never happenned in the whole history of CS, so no matter how professional you are when you win on lan against NiP it does take a lot of your nerves away... ;)

I really like your arguments for your top 5... NiP is not #1 just because they are, they are because they won most of the tournaments out there, being denied only twice, and unable to attend two. It's also the case because they didn't make any roster change so far. It's important to note that the same results with a complete roster change or more than half the team for example, would be a completely different story. VP #2 is just exaggerating their performances on the scene. Sure beating NiP several times is worth something, but they weren't that consistent between those two events, and didn't attend a lot of them comparing to VG, which were there since the very beginning. They do have one international title though. VG have kept their core players (Ex6 NBK and Smithzz) and were able to have more results on LAN than any other team (except NiP of course) throughout the year, having more titles, more finals and more podiums. Additionally, they attended more events than any other team, except maybe ESC and NiP. Sure, the fact that they consistently fail against NiP is a negative point, but it doesn't reflect at all their performances on the scene.

chill guys, ain't it enough that we were able to watch some good matches?! imo vp lost their focus after the match vs NiP, also they didn't have as much time to rest as VG did and had a way more tiring match. i don't know if VP would have won if they had more beneficial circumstances as VG had but we would at least have a better and close final. GG for VG,they played well the whole tournament and deserved the win. And it's not their fault for having an easier bracket than NiP and VP xD

I dont get it why ppl keep saying that if they didnt beat nip they didnt deserve the win. In final is two best teams, and if vp won nip they shud have win vG easily but they didnt cause vg was simply better tactic Wisely. Gg vg, it was definately deserved win.

What I think about it is not tha t someone was lucky or tired or smth else. VP had a single goal for a long period 0 TO BEAT NIP! The worked hard to reach this goal and thay did it (twice on LAN now). VP is no doubt the imo the only that can beat NiP, fact ( still I can't say VP is stronger then NiP anyway, they just got used to it). VP vs VG is absolutely different situation. I might be wrong but it seem like it was the first time VP played with VG on LAN. I don't know why ANGE1 didn't pay enough attention to VG's playstyle, but it was obvious when I listened to their POV stream VP just didn't know how to play against VG (while they knew all position of NiP's players like their fingertips). So now we have it like this: VP can beat NiP - fact! VG have no chance against NiP - fact! VP needs more time to get used to VG's style if they want to win the frenchies. Imo VP can't win any single map over VG nowadays - it's not about who is stronger, it's just because they are tooooo different!

I'll reiterate. Clearly other teams CAN beat NiP and have done so. Obviously VG do stand a chance of winning NiP, stop being an idiot. You give zero credit to VG due to your cringe-worthy fanboyism and my last comment clearly went over your head. To summarise again: you are an idiot.

i guess I missed that day when someone else beat NiP in bo3 on LAN and another one when VG had a chance against them...VG obviously have a chance if NiP play with eyes blinded or hands tied up whatever. nothing else to say...if VG TOP1 then ok, done with you

VG had a chance against them, so yes, you missed that day : hltv.org/match/2242326-nip-verygames-ese.. They also had this one, on the second map, where they were leading 13 - 10 or 13 - 11, something like this : hltv.org/match/2241242-nip-verygames-rai.. They also had a chance online, on ESEA, where they were up 12-3 on first half on de_nuke. All these opportunities were wasted, but they are definitely a match for NiP, denying that is just being silly. They sure are not top1 because it requires more than just two international titles to claim that, but they are certainly the most consistent team in the top3 besides NiP. I would certainly consider them top2 in the world if you take into account their performances during this first year of competitive scene.

lol @ all the retards who say Virtus couldn't play properly vs. VG because they were "tired". i'm impressed at how stupid some people can be... they had just beat NiP, they were pumped up and warmed up, while VG had to sit on their asses waiting for something to happen for over 3 hours... anyone who has ever played competitively knows how frustrating those long breaks are, you need some time to get back into the game after them. it's not like they were too tired... they only played three maps during the whole day. most of the LAN's make you play at least 10 maps per day. anyway it's not like the break was only 10 minutes, it was actually over 40 minutes, enough to recollect themselves. i always said VP play better vs. NiP than everyone else, but that doesn't mean they're better than the others, because they will still lose to the likes of VG. people told me i'm an idiot and that VP are a top2 team... and guess what, i was right... once again.

also i remember saying VG are going to be better than LDLC in the long run even though they beat VG twice online. always being right is so cool.

So many retards letting shit out about stuff they don't know anything about. Virtus.Pro were not tired; as ANGE1 said, they were over-confident, which they shouldn't be. When they first realised that they were getting their asses beaten, it was too late.

I'm so excited watching the POV channel with a team talk! For me it is better than even listen to the greatest casters. Of course I watched only VP matches this way because of a language barrier. I'd like to watch a POV stream at every championship. There can be some problems with an obscene lexis that may lead to a maturity rate increase though... Anyway it definitely requires more attention.

Real talk, this was a great tournament. Ran very smoothly with minimal delays. Great semifinal and finals matches. Results clearly indicate that NiP isn't unbeatable anymore and should make future events all the more interesting.

To me it looked like Virtus ran out of steam. Or overconfidence maybe? Anyway VG did not allow them to get away with their weaker performance and played almost flawlessly :) I still think they were pretty lucky that VP shined against NIP and took them out. I still believe they have big mental barrier to play against them and if the final was NIP-VG the outcome would have been obvious :)

VP is a little set in their ways great rifles for sure but I feel like an autosniper watching B tunnels from the side of box on platt. is a rush crusher. Too much of a smoke game now to discount the auto like 90% of players do.

VG said on Fr Stream vakarm that they were preparing the match against NiP . Why people can't just say VG are improving . It jsut take time to get shox back on the tracks. NOw it's ok next Lan will be awesome . Last results vs Nip were so close since shox joined so i'm pretty sure they will beat them and be back on the throne . It's just now better for the scene to get so much teams with a level barely equal
