Virtus.pro beat ESC to face NiP

Virtus.pro have defeated ESC Gaming 2-0 (16-9 on de_nuke_se, 16-9 on de_cache) to face Ninjas in Pyjamas in the semi-finals of RaidCall EMS One Summer 2013 tomorrow evening.

The last match of the day saw Virtus.pro taking on ESC Gaming, who once again failed to impress in a match where the Russian side gave few chances to their opponents.

On the first map of de_nuke_se, Virtus.pro started off on the highly favoured Counter-Terrorist side. Ladislav "GuardiaN" Kovács's team disposed of ESC in the first pistol round with the Poles not being able to reply in any of the following ecos.

Two gunrounds afterwards going to the hands of Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas's and his comrades did little to scare Virtus.pro off as they went on a winning streak, not giving any chance away this time.

At 7-2 scoreline, it seemed ESC might be able to get back on their feet with quite a successful eco, which ended up in a 1v1 afterplant situation. Sergey "Fox" Stolyarov was able to outposition Filip "Neo" Kubski though and defused the bomb in time.

Kucher's Virtus.pro completely disposed of ESC Gaming in the first half

From there on it went from bad to worse for the Poles, as they took only two of the remaining rounds, making the halftime score 11-4 in favour of Virtus.pro.

It all came down to the second pistol round, which was quickly dealt with by the Russians as well as the third round, where ESC bought desperately, wanting to stay alive in the first map.

They did manage that for five more rounds after Virtus.pro had a first map point at 15-4, eleven rounds in a row was too much to handle with the first map ending 16-9.

Going over to the new map of ESL's map pool de_cache, Jarosław "PASHA" Jarząbkowski made a strong case for getting a good start as Terrorists after losing the knife round.

Kirill "ANGE1" Karasiow got boosted on mid right into the backs of ESC Gaming in the second gunround, quickly getting three kills in the process, helping his team even out the score at 3-3 after the following round.

ANGE1 was a deciding factor in de_cache's early gunrounds

A few quick attacks coming from the Poles did not pan out well as they were going down one by one in each and every one of them. Even though a few gunrounds ended up in close 1v1 and 2v2 situations, Virtus.pro seemed to be more prepared and won all of them, making the score 11-4 before swapping sides.

Kubski was obviously out of his usual form, picking up only two kills in the first half, but decided to make up for it in the second pistol round. Four quick frags from a P2000 in his hands basically decided ESC Gaming would stay alive in the match at least for a while.

After two unsuccessful gunrounds, Virtus.pro once again stepped up and refused to leave anything for Wojtas's team, taking three rounds in a row, forcing ESC Gaming to buy only famases and deagles for the finish line.

With a half buy in their hands, ESC struggled to defend the A bombsite, which decided that the last team going into the semi-finals would be Virtus.pro, who will take on Ninjas in Pyjamas tomorrow evening.

The thing is that they don't want to retire as loosers, as TaZ already stated once on his facebook fanpage, It seems kinda normal to me, as they are true champions, so they want to retire as champions :)

ESC improved their aim but you can still tell they have no 'passion' or even interest for this game and I doubt that this will change. They seem to have much less in-game 'sense' compared to other teams which in turn means they play with no certainty and always get caught off-guard.

ESC needs some new blood. Surely there's other good players in Poland that can replace the older, less passionate players in their current lineup.
