ESWC map pool announced

The Electronic Sports World Cup has announced the map pool and the first version of the rulebook for this year's CS:GO tournament.

The 2013 edition of the ESWC world finals will run from October 30th to November 3rd at Porte de Versailles as part of the Paris Games Week event, which is a major trade fair for video games that is held anually.

With the first details about the qualifying process, which will run until October 17th, having already been revealed, the ESWC officials has now taken the time to put together the first version of the rulebook for the tournament.

While the rulebook remains pretty vague in some aspects, it shows that the map pool has already been determined. Besides the traditional maps, we have de_cache and de_season, which will hopefully force the teams to play on some lesser known maps more often.

There are 2 versions of the map when i remember correctly. One doesn't take so much FPS.

ESEA updated the map in their systems. Thats why everyone had to redownload it. An outdated version that has been fixed.

but cache is so good opportunities for both awp set ups and rifle set ups, its a great aimer map, not taht strat dependant

and its not even been seen by anyone nevermind playtested or practiced by any of the top teams, nor will it be until it's in more competitions. that's if it is even released on time.

Its not like i hate so much but the rotation is super long, that could be both good and bad but we saw for example that source teams have a fucking big advantage over 1.6 teams, we saw Anexis win 16-2 vs VP, they can never do that in dust2 nuke or whatever

Because it was a source map, and the source teams know how to play it :D

De_mirage was not played in source. Sourcers never seemed to moan about it and are doing well on that particular map.

it doesn't fucking matter if it was originally a 1.6 or source map. it is a go map now. if it is a good map then it should be in the pool. not to mention it's been played by most of the top teams in esea anyway. if guys playing at a professional level don't have the ability to learn a new map then maybe they should switch to professional minesweeper.

why remove season? its a new map give it a try. CS 1.6 died in part because the maps played where always the same, hope the same mistake doesnt hapen again with GO and new maps come more often

And how the fck is that?, GO has been out in nearly what 1,5 year?, and people still talk about 1,6 and source what the fcking hell and de_cache and de_mirage wasn't in Source So i ask again how the fck does source have a little advantage in the map pool??!?!?!

maybe if you could correct your sentence, I would understand, as you said "and de_cache and de_mirage wasn't in Source", you didn't say anything about tournament, but they were maps in CSS, thats my point, your should change you sentence. To me that sounded like they werent css maps at all, so :)

he's partially wrong about cache considering it was indeed played in esea during the latter seasons, but it was not that popular even among north americans so the euro scene never even tried it. mirage on the other hand, that map was never played in the source competitive scene. sure, cpl_strike was played here and there at some point, but it was not a core LAN map. so yeah, if source players were forced to play mirage, 1.6 players shouldn't complain about learning season. the more maps the merrier.

de_cache wasn't in 1.6 either. de_mirage has been played in CSGO since the beginning, de_season hasn't, so no teams from 1.6 has ever practised it.

I really like that the mappool features some maps, that isnt being played so much, seen from a 1.6 perspective. That being said, I really dislike cache and i think they should have put tuscan or perhaps mill in the pool.

Season is actually a well balanced map. You kids stuck to your ways of 1.6 and thinking ONLY maps from that game need to really open up. Maps from source aren't bad, and are fairly balanced. And the more maps, the better, we as a community just have to give GOOD maps a chance, and not be so damn pessimistic.

euro source teams will definitely want to play season. 1.6 dominant teams would be signing a death wish if they don't veto season against verygames or anexis, hell, perhaps even curse.na.

de_season is mostly played by NA teams, so I can assure you that teams such as Curse.NA and Torqued will be favorites playing on it. Other teams from both scenes have a 50/50 chance since everyone already experienced playing on it
