Virtus.pro shuts down CS:GO

According to their website, Virtus.pro have decided to shut down their Counter-Strike: Global Offensive division.

The news comes just weeks after the team recruited Ladislav "GuardiaN" Kovács and went onto finish 3-4th at DreamHack Summer, 2nd at RC EMS One and 3rd at SLTV StarSeries VI finals.

The post is in Russian and doesn't say much, but it does state the players haven't fulfilled their obligations to the team and that further sanctions will be applied to the players.

ANGE1 will no longer be representing Virtus.pro

When contacted for a response regarding the news, the former Virtus.pro squad's in-game leader Kirill "ANGE1" Karasiow stated the following:

"Changes are not going to be very predictible, said Karasiow"

That is likely a hint towards player changes as the roster itself joining another organization would have be considered predictable. Karasiow also hinted at changes on Twitter earlier today:

It remains to be seen what the former Virtus.pro squad choose to do with for example some of the Nostalgie players potentially out in the market to be picked up.

This is unreal! VP is TOP 2/3 and they would shut down CS:GO squad? A U serious? The results VP showed could not be compared to any other teams, at least on lan, they were amazing as they were never before.... Actually just GuardiaN himself posted on facebook that some of guys merge other team to make super team. I actually cancel my statement and think that ukraine guys join Na'Vi, which would be likely due to Na'Vis poor performance in CSGO, motivation and lose versus mix team. Now I am 90% sure that Ukraine guys join Na'Vi, or some people join from Na'Vi and make new team and find new organisation.

Well, "player obligations" aside, it's not like Virtus.pro have a choice when they want a russian CS:GO roster. So, this decision is most likely based on not wanting a CS:GO division at all, rather than not wanting this lineup.

If that's what it is then I really do still think it's a bad decision cause such moves will mean the team will have to once again start from scratch coming up with new teamplay, getting to know everyone's playstyle and skill as well as strategies etc...which will most likely mean the TOP 2/3 results might not be achievable at least for a while as they were before until the team finds their playstyle and starts being on top again. I mean it's ok to start from scratch, its just VP was already on the top and was staying there, but now I guess whatever the team is going to be it might not be playing well right away, might pass some time, but who knows, maybe the new team will keep on beating NiP and then it would bring new moral and motivation in and things will go welll, so I am hoping for the best and gl to whatever this new team will look like!

They are never gonna do it, they have a winning formula, they are friends. best possible LU TaZ nEo Dosia ange1 guardian Isn't dosia playing with his brother(fox)for ages now a clue that they either play together or not play at all? Also ceh9 has improved a lot. Despite angel being quite close to Na`Vi in the past, VP is shut down but the team has no reason for not staying together, maybe GuardiaN leaves because(not sure if there are) of communication problems. VP new lineup: Neo TaZ Guardian Fox Dosia NaVi new lineup: Ange1 Kucher Zeus Markeloff Edward Some people like just grabbing a team and make player changes, even if it makes no sense at all. Really no starix? he recently proved how good he was, even winning 1vs4 situations against NiP. Na`Vi is a team with chemistry and a lot of teamplay despite of having some weird performances like playing very strong against NiP and then losing to a mix team and also argue a lot in-game sometimes. noone is mad...its not the we lose RU team, its just gonna be a different one and maybe even a couple of teams of known players :) but obviously for the most part it is upsetting to see the highrising team VP that achieved a lot since the birth of CS:GO to disband just suddenly like that and as a matter of fact after just reading Fox's twitter Fox said 20min ago that he's now on the train going to watch some UFA game in some other country when he opened up his vk.com profiel and noticed his friend say "Fox, your'e no longer palying for VP" which Fox didnt even know about, so it seems to be a surprise to some dudes on the team to whats going on... anyway, w e, we'll find out soon....

I think GuardiaN is c00L, he palyed in VP, enjoyed his time and he just said today that he is still motivated and doesnt want to quit, so I think he'll find his place in some team very soon. He has to!
