New ROCCAT team coming? - Report

Former mousesports.UK and Anexis captain Sam "RattlesnK" Gawn has suggested on Twitter that ROCCAT is building a new roster with Joshua "steel" Nissan and some of his former teammates.

According to Gawn, the team would consist of German Andre "nooky" Utesch, Canadian Joshua "steel" Nissan, British James "wilzOOO" Wilson and his two Anexis teammates George "hudzG" Hoskins and James "Mx" Smale.

Gawn's Anexis were released from the organization this past week after a disappointing semi-finals loss against mixteam Nostalgie who wound up winning the entire tournament after a grand final win versus Na`Vi.

Despite poking fun at his former teammates' ability hold down B on de_inferno_se in a tweet last night, Gawn struggled himself in the deciding map and finished the tournament with the lowest rating and K-D difference in his team.

Everyone but Smale was already a part of mTw's roster last fall when Nissan originally moved overseas to play Counter-Strike. mTw used to be managed by Markey "botman" Frey, who works for ROCCAT.

Rumoured ROCCAT roster:

No official word has been released from the ROCCAT camp, which hasn't housed a Counter-Strike: Global Offensive squad yet, although the German peripherals manufacturer has sponsored teams in both 1.6 and Source in the past.

you were pretty good at picking matches where i did badly (mostly online or big losses on lan) casually missed for example: hltv.org/?pageid=188&matchid=9779 hltv.org/?pageid=188&matchid=8292 hltv.org/?pageid=188&matchid=10715 hltv.org/?pageid=188&matchid=10479 hltv.org/?pageid=188&matchid=13170 it's a bit harder playing vs f0rest/gtr than most of the other world, but my kpr (.72) is still significantly higher than that of e.g. fifflaren's (.62) or rattlesnk (.67) despiste being the in-game leader. carry on though ^^

As a matter of fact i've "casually missed" all matches that featured Xizt because i aimed solely for GTR and f0rest matches since they're obviously better than him. I didn't include these matches for example: hltv.org/?pageid=188&matchid=9553 hltv.org/?pageid=188&matchid=9552 hltv.org/?pageid=188&matchid=9346 (three of the first four fnatic matches, didn't bother to look further) I don't doubt there were a few games where you performed good... "A few" is the key word. In most of them you were one of the bottom three players even if your team won. It's not like Fifflaren and RattlesnK bottomfrag all the time... They also get good scores every now and then. We've already discussed why Fiff has such a low KPR. His team rapes almost everyone, and he's a pretty passive player, which means he doesn't get to see enemies in easy games. He has a lot of games like this one: hltv.org/?pageid=188&matchid=14852

10%, opinions about a game, didn't play that much? We all know 1.6 was the big brother but to spit out useless facts is just dumb. CGS killed css pretty much. At least for a few years. I think Rattlesnk has earned more than lurppis (including CGS which is a bit tardy) but overall lurppis should get more credit. /sAucer

difference is i actually had a fairly big impact in my success (thanks to being the in-game leader and usually being the 3rd best fragger in my team). fifflaren has no impact on nip's wins. you could put one of 20 players there and nip would have still won. he has won those titles just like juwan howard or rashard lewis won the nba title with the heat. technically, yes, but they just had no impact on it.

I'm hardly comparing between lurppis and filffaren. I'm comparing between lurppis as an IGL and rattlesnk as an IGL. As i said earlier. 1.6 in its prime > csgo/source as a international competitive scene. and i wasn't a follower of the cgs because it sucked really hard. in fact cgs was so stupid that even if you lose 10-6 (it was mr9). you might progress to the next level because it depends on all the games combined results so rattlesnk couldve easily lost all games but got carried by fifa or w/e other games were presented.

do you seriously think that 1.6 skill level in its prime (probably 2006/2007) was higher than what we have now in CSGO? just to remind you, f0rest (who started playing the game competitively in 2005) was nominated player of the year in 2005 and won that title in 2006. let me paraphrase that: an inexperienced newcomer was considered one of the best players of 1.6 in its prime. he didn't even bother with buying grenades back then... do you seriously think that the f0rest of 2013, a Counter-Strike veteran with a shitload of experience and skill, is weaker than his 2005 self? in any popular sports the rule of thumb is, the skill level increases as time passes by. that's common knowledge really. not to mention that CSGO features the best players from two games and not just one. rattlesnk might have played bad so far in CSGO but do you seriously think that players like mooN, CHEF-KOCH, Sally, vilden, ins, KIKOOO, weiss, naikon would've done better?

Skill level increases,but whats the point when csgo limits many faccets of showing skill?And pls dont say 2005/6 is the prime year of 1.6 skill level,it is definitely from 2008 to the end,in 2005/6 many ways of movement werent even discovered.You need to count in what type of things were possible in 1.6 and compare that to csgo?Yes aiming skill is high now,but guess what?There are types of aiming also,something also csgo doesnt really have.Trying to win an argument with only black and white view on the world wont get you far dude :D

It's really sad that rattlesnk makes fun of his previous teammates on social media just because they have decided to carry on their gaming career without him. or maybe his just jealous that they've joined a sponsored team while no one is willing to spend a penny on him & his previous organization is still disappointed that they let go of a fine csgo squad and picked up one with a leader that rages on his teammates and failed to achieve any results. Personally im not impressed with their current lineup was hoping for -nooky+re1ease or -wilzOO+release.

Some people are fine with being the worst player in the best team. For some it could be disturbing, especially if you get all the nasty comments and criticisms (like Fifflaren in NiP). It's down to personal preference. Don't see how this makes him a "snobby idiotic d-bag"?
