EPS Germany changes system

ESL Germany has decided to change the system of ESL Pro Series Germany. The Winter Season 2013 will be following a similar system to the one used in EMS One.

All games will be following the same cup system as ESL Pro Series Germany has been using with StarCraft 2 for five seasons. ESL Germany has decided to go this way because "the appeal of the all-or-nothing tournaments brings excitement every day".

The regular season will hold five cups, from where the attending teams earn points as well as prizemoney. Top eight teams in the ranking then proceed to the group stage with two groups of four.

Top two teams from each group will be invited to the offline finals, which have always taken place in ESL TV's studio in Cologne.

EPS Germany will be following the EMS One cup system

Seven teams from the Summer season will have a direct invite for the Winter Season, while the first placed team in A-Series also gets a spot.

Two more participants will be decided via a relegation stage after the Summer season is over, and the last six will be qualified through A-Series before each cup.

The ESL Pro Series Germany Summer Season 2013 playoffs will start on August 13, where ALTERNATE hold the top seed with only one loss in the group stage, followed by EnRo GRIFFINS.

I think they should just close the german section and put all the money into the EMS and EU A-Series I don't think the german scene is strong enough to deserve its own EPS

Sponsors have German only marketing budget. That money wouldn't go anywhere in EU.

only reason to change the format is to have more games (more viewers)
