RC EMS One Fall schedule released

The Electronic Sports League (ESL) has announced the schedule for the fall season of the RaidCall EMS One.

The new EMS One season will kick off on September 3rd with the first cup and culminate with the LAN finals, possibly inside the ESL TV’s studio, in Cologne, sometime in November.

The EMS Cups will feature the top 12 sides from last season in addition to the teams who qualify via the A-Series.

There has been a slight change to the format of the group stage, which will be played using the GSL format (double elimination bracket without the final).

VG are the defending RC EMS One champions

In the LAN finals there will also be a GSL group stage before the semi-finals instead of having the playoffs all the way, which was the case in the last two seasons.

Below you can find the schedule of the online part of the new EMS One season:

Cup #1 03.09.04.09
Cup #2 10.09.–11.09
Cup #3 17.09.–18.09
Cup #4 24.09.–25.09
Group A 01.10.–02.10
Group B 07.10.–08.10
Group C 15.10.–16.10
Group D 22.10.–23.10

The 12 teams who finished at the top of the last EMS One season and have thus earned a place in the four cups are:

France VeryGames Russia Virtus.pro
Sweden fnatic Sweden Ninjas in Pyjamas
France LDLC.com Denmark Copenhagen Wolves
Denmark Western Wolves Poland ESC Gaming
Ukraine Natus Vincere Sweden n!faculty
Germany Playing Ducks
Serbia iNation
Europe + EPS champions

I guess they got the place that belonged to the German team, so they have two. A number of situations to solve here.

Actually n!faculty gave us the EPS+EMS slot. We gave them the StarSeries + ESEA slot. So we have a spot here as Playing Ducks, normally.

Shouldn't Playing Ducks receive n!faculty spot, since they've played for them last season, while current n!faculty squad getting Five Crowns spot ? I believe the players holds the spot ?

The licence belongs to the n!faculty organization. Five Crowns is obviously not going to field a line-up, we only included them to be formal.

"Stefano Panella @Stefanex92 @larisyrota Who will replace VP, NaVi and ESC if they don't find new players before the end of the cups? Lari Syrota @larisyrota @Stefanex92 To be decided. It's also possible that there will be no replacement at all."

I hate the "GSL Style" groups - feels like a cheap way of getting out of playing all the games in a group. It's not any more intense and there's not as much drama in the group like there used to be IMO.

yes, much less of the retarded high schoolish drama due to terrible three way ties, and actually important deciding games. terrible tradeoff.
