NiP knock VeryGames out at 5-8th

NiP have knocked VeryGames out in 5-8th place at DreamHack Bucharest 2013 with a 2-0 (16-10 de_dust2_se, 16-2 de_inferno_se) score, advancing to the semi-finals.

NiP started the quarter-final versus their rivals VeryGames with a quick and successful bombsite A rush to go up 3-0 on de_dust2_se. The Swedes scored two quick kills on round four, but Edouard "SmithZz" Dubourdeaux's SCAR-20 triple bailed his team out.

Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund's team looked to be breaking VG's bank again on round five, but Adil "ScreaM" Benrlitom's quad kill with a one-on-three clutch once again saved the struggling Frenchmen.

Kèvin "Ex6TenZ" Droolans' double tied the game at three, but Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg and Alesund combined for four to finally force VeryGames on a save round as they jumped back up to a 5-3 lead.

Droolans' SCAR-20 won his team the next round, but even a double from him wasn't enough as NiP went on to win four straight rounds, including a quad kills from Lindberg and a one-on-one by Robin "Fifflaren" Johansson.

Dubourdeaux' triple kill and a one-on-two on top of the A bombsite gave VeryGames the second to last round, and Droolans finished the half with four SCAR-20 kills to make it 6-9 at half.

ScreaM was a monster on de_dust2_se

Benrlitom was impressive as ever as he scored four Glock kills to effectively tie the game again at nine, even adding another quad kill with a shotgun on the third round for a good measure.

Fourth round saw Benrlitom score another three kills, but ultimately lose a one-on-one in the B site. NiP read VeryGames perfectly on round five, forcing them on a save round that put the Swedes up 12-9.

Nathan "NBK" Schmitt's double kill gave VG their tenth round, but NiP then completely shut his side down, with a key triple from Adam "friberg" Friberg and a quad SCAR-20 kill from Richard "Xizt" Landström cementing their 16-10 win.

Second map de_inferno_se started just the way the first map finished. NiP quickly ran up a 3-0 lead before Richard "shox" Papillon's triple put VeryGames on the board in the must-win map.

Lindberg contributed three kills of his own to break VG's money, and the Frenchmen didn't even come close to winning one of the next three rounds as their deficit grew all the way until 1-7.

NiP look relieved after a 2-0 win in Bucharest

Landström's aggressive peeking middle gave him four SCAR-20 kills, and as VeryGames were contemplating their next move in spawn on a save round, Benrlitom ran out of time and gained no money for the coming round.

Three headshots from leader Droolans gave his team their second round, but the joy was shortlived with doubles from Johansson and Alesund quickly forcing Droolans & co to save once more.

Now down 2-11, VeryGames were once again shut down completely in the middle area in the next round, and Alesund scored three kills in the A site to clinch a commanding 13-2 half time lead.

The Ninjas went for a quick banana push on their terrorist pistol round, and VeryGames were unable to answer, Alesund's team found themselves up 1-0 in maps and 14-2 on de_inferno_se.

Alesund's shotgun kills gave NiP game point, and they wasted no time in taking over the A bombsite on the following round, completing their 16-2 and 2-0 series win to knock VeryGames out in Bucharest.

Can't really recall those matches, I just know that he hasn't been playing well at all lately. (If you see his individual skill, it's quite sub-par for a team such as Verygames. He can aim but his game-sense isn't convincing, imo)

NiP plays on a whole different level. No chance for VG. Side-note: If find it hilarious how NiP played like 10000 matches and in 99% of all matches f0rest and GTR are on the top.

Yes, but I can't remember a team of the past 12 years that had so clear and consistent statistics. I mean a lot of teams had outstanding "star-players" which were in most matches at the top of the scoreboard, but from time to time these star-players didn't end up on the top of the statistics (they were on the top in like 70-90% of all matches, but not in 99%). In other words: It's the consistency that surprises me. It's very clear that they are a lot better than their team-mates and they almost never have "a bad day". f0rest and GTR were also "star-players" in 1.6, but they were never as dominant in their teams as they are now.

Yes can agree with pretty much all you just said, even tho in terms of consistency, I have to honor mention get_right. f0rest sometimes underperforms a bit, but get_right ALWAYS performs its absolutelly amazing the consistency and quality of that guy

NiP vs Verygames matches aren't so close like they used to be. In my opinion that's because fifflaren start to play more better.

never were close :) maybe 1 or 2 maps but that was kinda luck from verygames. VeryGames is just overrated by source players who still think that VG can beat NiP if they were top1 in CSS.

Anticlimactic as ****. In all honesty, it hurts how VG collapses every time. After how much time they had to prepare to face NiP both strategically and mentally, you'd expect them to do better. Maybe the french scene really needs some scrambling. apEX, shox, Happy, ScreaM, kennyS. SmithZz, Ex6TenZ and NBK are still a strong core for VG to try new things around, but I really think the allstar lineup could work better. Especially since I think the main reason for VG breaking down mentally are Ex6TenZ and SmithZz. Watching matches that hurt to see is even worse than matches that are just boring. And without VP, we don't even know if anyone can seriously challenge NiP in a BO3. Hopefully AD will step up or we are back to square one in terms of competitiveness.

Easy for NiP, once. Go away VG and EX6. Next target, fnatic.

scream defines what might be absolute extreme aimer in some special moments but he is simply to onedimensional compared to a player like f0rest. For example i think f0rest combines movement, brain, timing, aim etc much better and he seems more relaxed approaching his game, yeah a whole different skillset.. but most important NiP as a complete unit seems to understand this game on another level than VG, its not only the opportunsitic individual play by NiP VG cant get a grip on nor read very well its mentally, the drive, the will, fucking every aspect.
