DreamHack announce casters

DreamHack have announced the full casting lineup that will play host to all viewers on their official stream for the Winter 2013's $250,000 tournament.

A total of ten people will bring you the live streams for DreamHack Winter, two of them in Swedish, two of them in the secondary stream and a total of six people will be working on the main stream on-site.

The full casting lineup of the official stream has now been announced on DreamHack's website, and you can also find it below right here on HLTV.org, though without the introductions.

Scott "SirScoots" Smith (Co-Host)

Duncan "Thorin" Shields (Expert)

Corey "dunn" Dunn (Caster)

Stuart "Tosspot" Saw (Caster)

Tomi "lurppis" Kovanen (Caster / Analyst)

Returning to DreamHack are Corey "dunn" Dunn from last year's Winter event, and HLTV.org's Tomi "lurppis" Kovanen, who has been part of the casting crew at the last two tournaments.

DreamHack Winter 2013 will kick off on November 28th in Jönköping, Sweden and HLTV.org will be on-site to provide you with full coverage of the $250,000 tournament.

Depends what you mean by the voice of cs. He is a nice guy, puts a lot of effort in and produces the most casting content, I'll give him that. He's not one of the top casters though, but then again cs really doesn't have any outstanding casters when compared to other games anyway.

Unless organizers of tournaments/leagues don't allow for him to stream, Anders streams every notable match, on a daily basis. He understands the meta-game involved in cs, knowledgeable of the teams/organizations, brings excitement to the game, and also has tons of fun streaming for the cs fanbase. DHW not picking anders for this stream is a slap in the face to him, his supporters and the cs community in general. Why would you not want to support the only caster who casts EVERY meaningful game?

Even though I'll get ridiculous flame incoming, I'd love to see Richard Lewis casting it, along with threat as analysis. Anders and semmler wouldn't be a bad choice either, certainly better than the current lineup. In an ideal world, TobiWan casting the event would be fantastic though.

Why would TobiWan casting CS be a fantastic thing? I get it, he creates hype, but you can already get that from people who are at least somewhat familiar with CS.. While Gonzo would probably do an alright job, he falls into the same category as lurppis and Thorin - way too polarizing.. I mean, you won't find people who say "I won't watch this because lurppis/Thorin/Gonzo isn't casting", but you'll definitely find it if you turn it the other way around.

But do you honestly think people who are offended by his editorials will put that aside if he's casting? The sole fact that people get so riled up for an editorial (which results in them sending him threats, DDoS attacks etc., etc.), makes me think it would be impossible for them to go into a cast with him from a neutral standpoint. Dunn and Tosspot, this is so awesome. Redeye and Joe couldn't come anyways because of IEM Singapur, so it is alright. In my opinion this caster lineup is the best we could get. Sad for Anders, but Dunn and Tosspot are just amazing! Can't wait for the tournament.

dunn and tosspot always been amazing, great to see them and BSL. Unfortunately there is no JoeMiller, Anders and Redeye who are some of the best on the scene. Even Pansy is getting better who actively listens and takes public feedback on board. Disgusted to see Thorin and Lurpis given the opportunity, imagine listening back to the vods listening to some monotone voices who have nothing better to do then bash on players, and provide the most negative experience I've ever listened to in casting. Not only that but you both never listen to feedback from the community (players or viewers) yet rip into other casters. Just hope for your sake you will this time and actually make people want to watch the main stream as by judging on all these comments people arn't impressed. You're both experienced so use it to your advantage positively for the biggest CS tournament there has been instead of embracing your own egos. Would have preferred to seen Threat or Heaton on the analysis desk tbh.

It makes it more interesting than watching it on it's own and can give you a lot of information that you might not know. Personally cannot stand lurppis as a caster. You get the same sense of self-righteousness and arrogance when listening to Stan Collymore talk about football. His monotone, unemotional voice is also immensely irritating.

BSL played in NoA, Catch Gamer etc. He's been a known figure for ages, long after retiring. For example he was the manager of Berlin Allianz in the CGS and was chosen as the coach for Team West in e-Stars (1.6).

They are professionals compared to Anders who is a new guy. Giving a guy who is very new to the esports business a place at the biggest CS GO tournament of the year isn't a very good idea. If you don't know them, you are probably new to esports in general. Because all of those have a huge history in different parts of esports. The question is, who is Anders? He is doing a nice job from home together with semmler, but excitement is something else.

Wondering why you would have a caster in your crew that literally do not enjoy the game, and has officially hinted many times that he will never touch it. Leave that for someone with some passion for the game. And what's up with not giving all year around casters a chance - like Anders. He streams almost any tournament (be it FaceIT, SLTV, ESEA, ESL ...). He might not be the very best caster, but he is giving life to CS:GO and I think he deserves the spot more than anyone else on that list.

Joe and Red are at IEM Singapur. Don't think that Tobiwan is looking forward to cast CS GO in the future. Just for fun maybe, but not serious. I know he is an awesome caster, but it isn't a surprise to not see him on the casters list in my opinion. The choice is perfect. If Anders and Semmler gets the second stream from home, it should be fine. I'm not gonna miss tosspot and dunn, that's for sure!

Lol. That's a bold statement. Thorin is probably one of the most professional and best journlists/interviewers in the scene. The LoL-community loves him for his interviews/grilled series. The cs-community hates him because most of the community are dumb as fk.

@ all those negative people on HLTV Joe Miller had to wait one year to finally cast the LoL World Finals. Kaelaris casted all WCS SC2 Europe Events + Season Finals and still wasn't invited to the gobal finals. Just two examples. Anders is a nice guy and will improve his casting skills and be sure he will get his chance one day. Remember EMS Finals, how nervous he was. And this one was just a studio tournament. I'm sure he will get the chance to cast the second stream with semmler for DHW from home. And about Thorin. The people who flame about him, do you know his work? This guy actually is esports. He knows everything about the history of CS and all other relevant esport games. You don't have to be a former pro gamer to have a clue about the game. Yes Thorin talks a lot, but I'm sure he will mainly used as analyst and co caster. And lurppis isn't negative about CS GO anymore. Of course he has his personal opinion about several things, but he is at least a guy who shares his honest opinion about everything. There is a reason why Dreamhack invited exactly those guys and not others. I'm sure this is going to be one hell of a show in two weeks.

It's not an impressive feat to have the ability of memory - almost anyone could do that with a slight bit of effort.. Let's hope so, but for somebody to be a caster in my eyes, you need to at least know how to throw a smoke somewhere in the game or kill somebody for that matter. I just hope when the times comes and there is a situation happening in the game and one of them is not going to say "can you do this in csgo?". I was watching faceit stream few days ago and one of the casters says "i wish i could see how much damage this player has dealt the last round" and he doesnt know that you can check that in graphs.

When will you people understand that just by casting a-lot of games like Anders does, does not mean you are good caster. Hes preaty Average at it and i'm modest at saying this. BSL,Lurppis ex pro cs players. Tosspot is as famous as Joemiller. Sirscoots is just another old name but he used to be decent and actually analytic. Corey dunn is some one i cannot remember. And Thorin as much as you people hate him hes the guy with all the previous information hes like the book of CS yes hes analytic point is not as good as the others but hes the person to turn about old facts and things you need to know scores/matches/transfers/upcoming players and so on. The only better lineup then this is to replace BSL with JoeMiller and let BSL just hype around hes very good at this. For the people that do not know who he is , you should just stop and watch something else hes a legend in hes own right.

Thorium is just a straight up dick head who thinks he knows everything and talks over decrying and over analyzes EVERYTHING, he also talks waaay to much and is incredibly negative. Lurpiss is nearly just as bad, always bagging the game and pointing out its flaws, he's stuck in the passed and isn't embracing CS:GO for what it is. Anders may not be as informed as the others but the passion and effort he puts into it far outweighs his flaws. And how much more exciting is it for new people to watch when you have so much energy and commitment compared to the droning of Thorin and Lurpiss +10 for Anders and possibly even Semmler

agree. Although Thorin is a complete knowitall faggot (who isn't even that intelligent), i do believe Lurpiss is a legitimately good caster, although his negativity does annoy me sometimes. I do think that DHW should go for caster who actually care about csgo though, not ones who openly hate the game and will dampen the whole mood of the tournament

I've never heard Lurpiss slam CS GO while casting. He also hasn't openly said anything negative towards the game in a while too. Most of it was in the first 6 months and was completely justified.

why doos joe miller even seem a good castor to people is beyond my mind... He does not make any tactical analysis. anything deeper than an a rush or a b rush is beyond his comprehension, let along to analyze which site is weaker/strong in game based on different teams' playstyle from a omni perspective. his csgo skills retains at a pub level. pansy is more knowledgeable of the game than him. we do not need someone to yell " OMG THAT IS SUCH A NICE FRAG , HE GOT 3 KILLS." rather, i'd prefer a castor says "he got those 3 frags because his teammate set up an amazing crossfire because the terrorists has hit this same spot 3 rounds in a row." or A is a better site to attack because the Ct's have been playing a site very passively.

Well, I disagree. Yes, he might not have any deep insights into the game, but as a play-by-play casters he's outstanding. Give him an expert to do the analysing part, and he will actively try to involve them, ask questions or try to make them talk. I cannot stress this enough: The fact that he actually knows his role (play-by-play commentating), is a good thing. Meanwhile, some other caster like ReDeYe or Anders would just talk nonstop and give their worthless opinion about EVERYTHING. I don't want to fuckin' hear casters who know squat about the tactical aspects of the game analyse anything.

I don't get the hate against Lurppis or Thorin.. Lurppis has knowledge about the game that only few people on the scene have, and I actually enjoy hearing him. He isn't talking much, he just says what's right and nothing more. Thorin seems like he could be good, or he could be a disaster. At Prague Challenge he seemed so arrogant because he had more knowledge than Anders, and it annoyed me. I just hope he isn't like that at DH because with his history in the scene he has so many stories and theories about players and plays. I hope they work out, because they really have the potential to be great casters

As for lurpiss, the hate is probably because he always behaves like an asshole and has posted so often about how he doesn't even like CSGO. A better question would be why people embrace a caster that doesn't like a game, yet casts it for some money, it's quite sad that people actually want him to cast. Anders has been streaming almost constantly, and been the only guy with semmler from time to time that actually bothers to do so.. He gives so much time to this game and the community, thats why all the fuss, obviously he got alot of fans as he's pretty much the only English Broadcaster that spends so much time streaming all the different matches as he does .. im a fan myself, and i honestly think Anders deserves this spot than any of the casters on there (Not saying that, the casters are bad) - Tho i do not like Thorin or Lurrpis.. Id rather see Anders and Semmler who puts so much effort into making it an enjoyable game for others to watch. Anders can improve, but no one gives him the chance to do so - he is by far the most enjoyable caster i have encountered. Hopefully, next year, when the tournament will be even bigger! :-)
