Devilwalk: "jw is one of a kind"

Jonatan "Devilwalk" Lundberg and Markus "pronax" Wallsten sat down with Tomi "lurppis" Kovanen in the DreamArena Extreme after their $100,000 worth victory over NiP Gaming in the grand final of DreamHack Winter 2013 SteelSeries CS:GO Championship.

Fnatic's squad went from zero to hero in less than a year's time, going from being unknown players online to winning the biggest tournament in Counter-Strike history.

In this 8-minute interview, Lundberg and Wallsten chat about their victory, the new style of leadership, their star player Jesper "jw" Wecksell and more.

Check it out below, and make sure to stay for the bloopers at the end!

it was not true. Carn had noise cancelling headphones and his screen was just the desktop (not ingame). All he could do was talk to them on TS3, which is exactly what all managers do when they stand behind their team.

Do you really think Dreamhack wouldn't have done anything earlier then? Just think about it and then you easily should come to the conclusion that this would never have happened. At least not the whole match without someone doing against it. haha

It's called coaching, most teams on the CoD pro scene have a coach. A coach can help keep track on how many opponents that are alive, time on the bomb, help with calling out the opponents position and ofc as a last resort he can help calling strats that way the team is harder to read.

Actually the word Joy at 0:25 or so was what ticked me off. It was pronounced in a rather Swedish way and reminded me that this happens in a lot of interviews with Swedish players and I never got around to asking this question.

I remember Lurppis always trashing Pronax's teams on [Pod]cast, or did I get it wrong? (Can't remember for sure) Anyway nice interview!

this is the first time an interview i've done on hltv.org had any bloopers, normally it's smooth sailing from the get go. can't make a video out of what doesn't exist. just a perfect storm of being tired and unable to focus this time

didn't know carn gave ingame advice, that is REALLY controversial. In a sense fnatic had a 6th player, who could possibly see all monitors. That is a huge advantage if he keeps informing what he sees. There should be clear rules about this 'coach' thing.

actually if its directly after the round it is yeah (or during ) . Cause Igl have to play the game then gave the new directive . Whereas carn just watch like a demo and can give more clear advice . but whatever fnatic played well and deserved

What is the big deal? every team can have their manager coaching them... Look at the CoD Pro scene, most of the teams have a coach and a coach is even more helpful in CoD.

Imo the "biggest" in history has to be some 1.6 tournament where all the best teams attended. Maybe an IEM or something. CS:GO good, but not best (1.6 best)

its funny how this team have changed my mind about them. in the beginning of this year i accused them for cheating (not flusha tho). After cph games they proved me wrong and i actually became a fan. Ever since then ive been cheering for this team and i know theese guys work hard for their success. <3 flusha and thanks for mentioning my name in the fragbite interview, hahaha.
